Had our fair share of those this spring already and haven't been in the field with the equipment yet.

It seems high, but some older guys just want durable equipment that doesn't shut down because of a little sensor failure that requires a 150/hr technician plus mileage to get you going again.

They've just had enough of the bs.

In our gumbo I sure notice the fields are one continuous rumble strip. What wires, sensors, computer components can take 350 hours of bouncing, jiggling, jarring? Discers didn’t leave those ridges to bounce over for the rest of the year. After discers came smooth harrowing at an angle and the fields were flat as a pancake. Just a thought. Don’t mean to offend, just wondering why so much seek and find ( or maybe no find).

You bring up a very good point ... then add mileage at horrendous rates and double it .
Ag dealerships charge more per hour than NASA .

Weather looks like more rain and snow for us coming Monday and Tuesday. Canola has been a struggle good thing we took the wheat when we did. All dry and good. Canola so far was dry but today if it flows it goes. The dryer will start up. Should have about 800 acres left tonight. Forgot the mile stip.

We have a small pasture that we help/share the maintenance of the fence with the tennent. After last night's rain I thought I'd take the opportunity to put some poles in, frost is kinda out, so I go out with the trusty crow bar and think I'm going to replace the two poles I knew were broke off....there were more upon inspection. Some snapped off when they were given a good back and forth jerk. I'm getting too old and out of shape after a long lazy winter..... I have a carpenter's belt that holds the staples and the fencing pliers.....I could barely latch the clasp around my waist...it was tight. I never adjusted it as a reminder I need to be in better shape. Middle age spread sucks. Oh yea, I don't have a post pounder and never used a mallet....they were pushed in with a front-end loader with the bucket full of dirt.....no trouble. Not a big job.

What I wanted to point out was there was no mosquitos, no crocuses, no ticks and grass is slow for May 3rd. Trees still seem to be asleep too.
