I am sure most RCMP are decent people, but the system/hierarchy is not set up to serve the people.
They are tax collectors first and foremost. That is a sad comment to make about your national police service.
They don’t care about property crime. Again I don’t think this makes them scum as they were called earlier but it is very frustrating. I don’t know how high up the ladder these decisions are made, but obviously they have decided that is not worth the resources to investigate property crime. They figure you are insured so why bother. The only reason I would contact the RCMP after a theft is because the insurance company requires it. They won’t spend 5 minutes on it.
They are slaves to political correctness. Again I don’t know who makes that decision but it makes the RCMP look weak and ridiculous. When the natives were blocking the railway tracks I would like to know how things work practically speaking. Does Trudeau see it on the news and tell his assistant to call the RCMP and not arrest them? I am pretty sure if some of my friends and I blockaded the 16 Highway or Potash rail cars at Esterhazy that we would be arrested in less than an hour. Of course it would take longer than an hour if we all stole trucks as then it would be a property crime and they wouldn’t investigate it. But seriously who tells the RCMP when they are supposed to ignore the law? I assume it is not Trudeau himself so how do know not to arrest the blockaders or let refugees in? It is not the first year Constable in Manitoba letting the refugees in, but they are getting instructions from somewhere.
They seem to be good/concerned at physical assaults and more serious crimes committed against a person. So I guess that is good.
But at the same they seem totally baffled as to how you send out a mass text warning people there is a crazy guy impersonating a police officer killing people. If only they had talked to a 12 year old who could have walked them through it.

Vast majority fall under scum category, I would say that's painting with a broad brush.
I'm sure Heidi Stevenson's family would be over joyed that she earned "your respect" after she paid the ultimate price. I guess that's what got her off your vast majority "scum category"
Beetle, there 19000 RCMP officers, just curious how you know the vast majority fall under the scum category have you had dealings with each and everyone of them? Care to back your Agriville Chat Line accusation with some sort of facts.

How do you think they did?
While scum is not a word I would use, the majority of them certainly didn't boost my confidence.
We watched them stand by while unifor and protestors, some even armed, brought our economy to its knees and told us they cant intervene only to then jump on board to do the govt bidding in the lock down and harrass dog walkers and families.Last edited by jazz; May 6, 2020, 20:46.

Sad part is , the average cop is under orders from the top to follow certain protocols.
I would disagree that cops are not all good . They have a tough line to follow , mostly by a very questionable justice system and now government policy

Beetle, (I guess should include Robert and Makar, as they liked your original post)
"RCMP are scum as far as I am concerned. Lazy co*ksuckers."
News report below from May 6/2020
A 27-year-old man was killed Wednesday following a vehicle chase and armed confrontation with RCMP on the Queen Elizabeth II Highway south of Leduc, Alta.
An RCMP officer suffered serious but non-life-threatening injuries, police said in a news release.
The incident began at a home in Blackfalds, just north of Red Deer, at 8:15 a.m. MT when RCMP responded to a gun complaint.
When officers arrived, shots were fired at their vehicles. A female bystander was shot and taken to hospital with serious injuries, RCMP said.
Officers tried to contain the area, but the suspect fled in a vehicle, the release said.
Beetle, just some more of those RCMP officers of which are "vast majority fall under the scum category."

Also a gun complaint called in in Calgary yesterday I believe. People called it in because there were shots fired through an apartment wall.
And yet it’s a mystery why, when someone calls in a storm trooper walking down the road with a gun, police might respond like it’s a real situation.
Go figure.

If there were much tougher laws against the criminals it would help more . But that’s not the way it is anymore

Neighbour threatened to blow up both my parents and my house as well due to a complaint from us to the police that his cows had continually kept getting out for about 3 years prior to us finally having enough. The last time they got out he left them in our field for 3-4 days after we called him before making an attempt to retrieve them. If he would feed them, maybe they wouldn’t push the fence?
No police report was made about his threats to blow up our houses. Scum.

How can they be stricter and tougher on criminals if they have to be sure not to “overreact†until criminals are proven guilty. It is more a court system issue than a police issue. The police just bring them in, the courts need to toughen up the repercussions.
Not a line I would want to try and walk, either way.
