    Anyone sell Canola?

    Well I'd like a show of hands who was selling Canola yesterday morning and who was selling afternoon, it can really show mindset of marketer.

    The coffee shop is alive and well.

    Crushers are saying they lost the farmer this week. Not even phoning anymore.

    It scares me when so many people didn't sell last year at $10.60 and that same canola is still in the bin.

      Incognito;

      At least these folks had the choice!

      Guess this is why we like the CWB so much in the "designated area"... someone to blame everything on... and to make sure our nieghbour CANNOT sell when the price is high!

      I for one am pleased that the open market again allowed those with lower yields an opportunity to survive... if they had a market plan!

        Sold the last of our canola last week at 8.95 (eastern MB, horrible freight rates). Highest I saw was 9.05 and since we only had a bit left, difference wasn't much. All of last year's crop was sold last year and at least 50% of it managed to be close to the highs of the market.

        I'm not sure how people can still have last year's crop left (2002 we are talking, right). Bin space and bill payments always seem to make sure we never carry any crop over.

              POST:The usual suspects, rumors of, , cancellations,beans, oil, high freight stopped freight, too much, too little, just right. Choose one. In a mild market I like offering on 10.00-12.00 moves, in a strong upswing I like to double it 20.00-25.00 and you know I sleep better. I'm not very exciting but have managed to ingratiate myself to my banker most years. lol
