A few of us gardeners have a potato competition each year. Largest potato on 24 May wins.Honour system. Pics. We pull of all kinds of tricks. Planting early in a pail in the basement works well. 😁. Sometimes we even get together to eat the potatoes.... got any tricks, sum? I have a potato plant just starting to bloom in my window... 😜

Ah yes, it creates this image - something about "a hungry little boy..." - it effectively tugs at one's heartstrings.... (But not the purse strings so foggitit, no prize from this quarter)

Hey I was awake and saw it before anyone posted but I suppose it's like the auction sale where you actually gotta move your hand to win something...

Oh well, the sun is shining warmly, no cold wind for what seems like the first time this spring and I'm heading to the field to plant corn. So that's my prize, topped with a broad dash of much-neededoptimism.

Not a hunk a hunk a burning love in this Ghetto, more like a "chunk a chunk of smoldering hate and resentment" here in Ghetto Central".

Fingerling potatoes grow fast and get to be the size of salami. No kidding, we plant them early in the greenhouse, try some, I have piles of seed if you need.

Our potatoes are in a bucket under the sink .............. I don’t think there’s enough dirt on them to start growing though.

            Very cool competition 👍

Find a fresh. mole hill. ‘Decorate the potato bucket with mole- soil..... You really need to learn a few tricks of you decide to start a fun competition with a few neighbours. ☺️
