Ya, I thought the same thing when I saw the forecast high for today and the overnight low, I thought that's quite the swing.
Probably very little heat radiating from the ground yet to keep over night temps up.

It will be -4 to -5 by morning again
I had to laugh the other day , NB environment Canada showed plus 3 , it was -3 here

And where do the “temps” come from for this climate change B/s ??
Sorry for the rant , but this is ridiculous already that we are being fed this b/s constant. But real world here shows , extremely short growing seasons the past few years ..... absolutely a fact by crop left out and C4 plants like corn and soybeans not yielding or maturing let alone cool season crops like canola.

A full 7 days mid May frosts.. when the fudge will people realize how the blinds have been pulled ? When it freezes every single month ? Not just 11 like last year ??

Neighbor finished harvesting peas and seeding them simultaneously this week.
Nearly ran off road by a road rage trucker this week.. Posters on forums and drivers, can always tell how old they are.
Yet more water in sloughs this spring but at least it's dry between them.
Area could be generally half done after this weekend.
First time I've had a reliable rock picker for spring. Thank you economy..

Funny stat about the farm $500000 loan from FCC.

480 mill borrowed under the loan that’s 960 farms qualified. Then 452000000 is refinance of farms or didn’t qualify. So basically that’s not new money all that went out was the first amount. Great program liberals just ducking great.

Just got the drill rollin’ yesterday and still finding a few gremlins to deal with. A hose that wore through is the current one.


It’s full steam ahead in the neighbourhood although it’s hard to tell is it October or May? There’s as many combines going as air drills and I doubt anyone will be waiting for better conditions with this forecast.

How boring it would be to have two years the same in a row...........

Holidays aren’t allowed to be thought of until the critters are out on grass here. The neighbour moved theirs out last month already onto fields that were grazed off last fall. Maybe they know something I don’t but I think those cows are going to have a looooong summer. The fields “look” greenish but there’s nothing there yet.

We are definitely not dry.

Harrow and kelly are working overtime. But we have a straw problem that needs to be addressed and this year with extra workers its going to happen.

Big rain event next week starting Wednesday for us.

I hope for once we miss one.

Should be at halfway mark or close if it does hit.

Woodland it always amazes me how much different your weather is than mine. I live east of a Red Deer and your weather in the Drayton valley is certainly much different. We started seeding May 3. Soil moisture conditions have been good. Low areas are certainly dryer than the past 4-5 years. Frost finally went out about the 11th and that certainly helped dry out the potholes. We are about 60% done. Good luck and I hope you get some seeds in the ground.
