Friday Crop Report on a Thursday!

Well its a Zero Rain event for us and thank god things are maybe working out this year.

April was awesome to harvest and we finished last years crop in April. Still, guys are harvesting the other afternoon, but it looks like Eddy Match is being now used as guys are just done with harvest 2019.

So as of Tonight, we will be at 53% Done. Our area has had a good run from here to the valley. South of the valley is a little further ahead but really not much different timing this year. Now north of us all way up to 16 highway is behind that number.

Burning is taking place and because of the tough harvest, last fall not a lot of fall work was done. Everyone has either a cult, protill, Lemkin, or kelly out and then every harrow from old diamonds all way up to the big Degelman is going in front of the drills.

Eddy match is the choice of lots, but with the stupid winds that option is very limited. One Calm day and you thought we had a forest fire close with all the smoke.

Pastures are starting to grow and leaves finally are coming out.

Now here is a new one for us, Rural Crime is on the up. That's one you really don't want and it is gaining. Two nights ago anhydrous tank got hit. But the stuff they took was really nothing. Neighbours abandoned yard had some damage. This is Trudeau's Liberals love a thug. Garbage is also getting dumped on side of the road.

Crops of choice in our area this year are Peas, Lentils will be up. Spring wheat down, Barley up, Flax up, Few faba etc. Canola down. On the canola crop, we always start seeding after the 16th of May, less flea damage as the crop is up and going quick, fewer frost risks etc. Well, it seems this year every one a week ago sat and waited on the canola till the ground warmed up.

The odd guy is a few days away from finishing, Most need a good week.

Drew has a cold night coming around the first of June the end of May. Looks more like it will be East of us and Manitoba after next weeks rain event.

Have fun be safe and lets get this crop in the gound. The parasites are counting on us.

Ok on the Trudeau file, Does anyone besides me find it totally funny that this Moron walks out every day and spends Billions. We are 280 billion in debt in just 5 months of 2020. That's not out total country debt, nope that's the amount he has spent over and above what has come in. We are part of the trillion-dollar club.

Go on liberal sites or argue on twitter and you will soon find Ontario, Quebec people have no clue about debt and think skippy is doing Canada right.

WTF that like a farm with min debt going in and taking out 350 million lines of credit when their total farm sales are just 5 mill. Going on a spending spree. Yep, it's impressive but sooner or later someone has to pay it back. Borrow from the mob and its cement boots. Now skippy wants an equity position in some business that he will help with cash. Oh, climate change also has to be addressed.

The sheep keep nodding there head and agreeing and the changing of Canada is going exactly as planned. Or this is one ****ing sick nightmare.

Oh, today I read a article this morning about how Canada is in a position to take all sales of Barley from Australia and get in with china good.

**** the writer forgot we pissed of china and they killed our canola a couple of billion dollar a year crop. BUt shit barley is worth replacing it.

400 acres left, one more short day and woulda wrapped up. Will be close to 1” in the gauge when the rain stops here in next hour. I haven’t talked to the ole man yet this morning but guaranteed he’s pissed off I didn’t run 25 hours a day and got that last bit seeded before the rain.....

We finished everything yesterday except the field our cows and calves are in, it will be seeded when we get the cows out on pasture. Started raining last night and still raining today, a welcome rain on the pastures and hay land. We have peas up and some of the wheat, this rain should certainly help.

As for crop choices in our area I would say peas are down, canola steady to down a bit and barley and wheat up a bit.

We just have 300 ac Blackbeans left to go and a swampy field we do later ... be real swampy now lol
1 st time ever planting sunflowers 🌻 , just did 2 ac for a local mini golf course. Should look cool but late summer .
                  Corn plots in
Wheat is up , barley is up , peas just emerging and first canola just up
Fabas are struggling, not sure why , went into near perfect conditions. We have a field scout for that field and they are finding a fair amount of “abnormal”. Hopefully after this rain they giver.

I am voting for Trudeau and in proxy voting for Trump to take the whole place over.

The latest from Drew's dartboard. As long as he keeps getting subscriptions from those with more money then they know what to do with, why not.

He was the only one to predict that very cold spell in earlier in may ... two weeks before it happened. Maybe he just got lucky

Nothing but mud here. Near the US border too wet for anything. I've never seen such slow seeding progress. Track hoe is busy pretty much very day digging out tractors, drills, pro tills. It's variable as close to Killarney and bit south not bad. Then, every mile south gets wetter and wetter.
