The Socrates quote. I dug that up for a speech back in 1992. I am getting old. Never saw it in print before then. It's all over the Internet now.

Want a book every farmer should read re. grain marketing?

Its called the "Merchant's Edge". A prof. at Kansas State University told me of it 2 years ago and it is on my nightstand ever since.

All the major grain companies are using it in the US.

    QUOTE:

The Merchant's Edge is the industry's premier merchandising guide for the grain handling, storage, redistribution and/or value-added business. This book takes you through the mechanics of basis trading step by step, from a fundamental understanding of what basis is and how it works to advanced merchandising techniques.

    Price: $39.95

The Merchant's Edge teaches practical merchandising skills--specific procedures that you can put to use immediately in your business to offset price risk and enhance margins. There are no complicated market prediction strategies or confusing theories here--just a straightforward, understandable approach to merchandising. Whether you're a seasoned merchant or just starting out in the grain business, the Merchant's Edge is a valuable guide you won't want to be without.

      Tom:

Take a pill. I'm getting worried about you again. The last time that happened you were driving a truck in Winnipeg.

I think as much as 300,000 MT of canola has left these shores via container this year alone UNDER THE RADAR.

Big deal you say! It is when we come to the end of the year and look at carry.

Did Ward W. indicate how much wheat has left our shores via containers?

        Incognito;

My beard is much grayer now, but my CFO Lucy still keeps pushing me on... especially when I get fired up!

25 years... this year... ammazzing how time flies... 8 years since the Western Grain Marketing Panel... seems like it was yesterday... nothing has been resolved.

        Farmers convicted last week...

The US cash price still a dollar or more above the CANADIAN CASH PRICE, what good is that?

But Incognito, I can feel it in my spirit... and my bones... we are sooo close...

We know we MUST fix this... not destroy it... even though my CFO says NO!

Can someone find and post the 02-03 non-durum CWB export wheat numbers, tonnes we class of wheat, and tonnes of each grade exported?

Tonnes exported to the US and grade brakedown by grade would be great too!
