Bibeau just doesn’t care about Western Canadian farmers. Her only priority is dairy farmers in Quebec.

It is pretty logical that any industry that can not pass on the cost of the tax should not be subjected to it, totally kills competitiveness. In this case any tax should be factored and applied to the sale of the end product (bag of oatmeal, pack of steak).
I like how Bobo claims livestock and grain production are exempt, isn’t drying part of grain production, or did she mean they were simply exempting the cow farts the idiots always talk about.

Bibeau says we are exempt on cardlocks and our other emissions...

I will gladly pay my emissions cost when they start paying and back paying farmers for their contributions to a cleaner environment...

I think we are being taken advantage of....more so as the carbon tax increases...

Oil at 1970 prices and gas at the pumps is slowly reaching a buck a litre again...

One of the challenges is, as pointed out. "Bibeau also noted that emissions from livestock and crop production were exempt". That statement alone really shows how they view agriculture and my bigger concern. I'm thinking it's a pipe dream if this, or any government, will ever pay producers to capture carbon. Maybe the private can see an opportunity.

Putting it into perspective there have been 190,000 CERB claims need to be repaid - at $2,000/claim that's $380 million. Just remind yourself what AG got in all of this.

We are told to use up our agri-invest.....this may seem ignorant but why are restaurant employees that expect a 30 percent tip using up their tip savings first ???????

Yes and drug overdoses are skyrocketing - people are using the CERB money to buy drugs! How completely stupid to piss money away and ignore productive farms that contribute to the greater economy and society as a whole (food).

Worse yet is they are feeding potatoes to cows and euthanizing animals...

So people would rather buy drugs....

The mccain family can't give away French fries but the family will get money for lost value...

When you have a federal government that looks at everything through a Quebec centric lens this isn’t that hard to understand. In Quebec they use a cap and trade program instead of a defined carbon tax. In the latest cap and trade auction bids were $24 CAD, so they pay less per tonne for C02 than we do in Alberta and Saskatchewan. Also I am not sure if the cap and trade program adds to the cost of propane and natural gas. The amount of grain produced in Quebec would be very small compared to the prairies. But in reality all that really matters to the Liberal’s know they won’t gain any votes, plain and simple.
