When you look to the sky for liquid to grow a crop and mother nature sets up a blocking pattern its tough to take.

But that is the reality of 2020.

Again storms build up in Montana start heading North to NE cross border and pick up to point hail so thick in Southey the streets were white. like winter. 40 miles west of us.

Then it turns heads NE and disappears.

Saskatoon area rain and more rain.

Good land can take it for a while and we are living on last years mud bowl from the harvest from hell where it rained every second day.

Maybe two more weeks and that's all she wrote.

Stoon to Humbolt must be very wet

We went from a 90% 50 mil forecast to half of that to 30% showers in the past 6 hours
System stuck around Stoon , Humbolt, Davidson.
Might get a few mills out of it , or 2/10 ths in old time measurements lol .

I would say it is like us in 2010. One guy trying to spray and makes ruts the whole way up and back. Been there done that it doesn't pay.

Here’s my rain total since May 1:
First two wks of May one rain 6 tenths and one 4 tenths.
Two wks ago 3 tenths and last wk end 4.5 tenths. This sounds like it shouldn’t be that bad.
But .... take into consideration most days for month and a half 30-80k winds. I’m really not sure how much moisture is really left after the hurricanes have taken ever drop if moisture we received. The 3 and 4 tenth events honestly don’t do much but wet the dust.
The wind have done more damage to our crops than the lack of rain.
Crops are slow growing as they are rooting to stay alive. Trying to stay positive ... reality is we all need a two day soaker or we will be cutting a well below average crop.
Just a side note .... heard Environment Canada say these winds speeds are actually normal. WTF!!!

Yea yesterday all over the news Environment Canada was saying it's just a normal spring with light winds.

WTF is wrong with everything Fed. Gov these days.

Wind damage is the biggest thing this spring.

Rain event in Regina on Sunday and ground looks today like nothing happened.

Yeah Regina looks to only have got about 4 tenths. Everything is petering out as it approaches this area.

We were south further and were able to catch about 8 tenths. A real crop saver that one.

Why does Tweety's observation about metric irritate you so much? He never said it was a bad thing, only that practically all used the Imperial System. It does say a lot, that if you are going to do a presentation or talk to farmers in general, use imperial units.

At agronomy updates etc you can see most farmers eyes roll back when a scientist talk plants/m2 or kg/ha yield and application.

but surely to christ you don't count your canola plants per sq. meter
i used metric in oil patch , no better system as far as I'm concerned , but as a farming application it is a joke , plain and simple
