Australia is working behind the scenes at the UN Human Rights Council in Geneva to prevent agreement on a proposed motion by African states calling for an inquir*y into police brutality and racism in the US.
The draft resolution, backed by China, would ask the UN’s High Commissioner for Human Rights to examine “alleged violations of international human rights law and abuses against Africans and people of African descent in the United States of America and other parts of the worldâ€.
Australia was pushing for the motion to be amended before it was considered by the council overnight AEST, arguing that it would give the UN a mandate to conduct an ongoing inquiry into the affairs of a free, open country.
They will have North Korea, China and Saudi Arabia investigate America for racism. The UN is a joke.
So the likes of Libya, Venezuela, and Sudan can carry out a impartial, incisive survey of American society? I mean, who would know about violating human rights better than that lot?
World is crazy. Seems at times everyone is out to get USA Australia and UK common sense ain’t so common
