You don't see canola like that in the Slum of the Ghetto. Especially the variety and herbicide system we're growing.
Sloooooooooow and darker yellow flowers....not the vigorous plants with the vibrant yellow flowers of the other two systems. But I hope to make it up on price on a respectable yield for what it is. Really hard looking at some.of the pics posted and comparing them to our "overall" crop.....but if I look hard enough I'm sure I could find a plant or area that could compete.....until then I'll accept what's here and keep my expectations low.

The "can" is a cherry pic. It's a low spot. But looking across the top, it's flat as a pancake even. Similar to holding a big fish as close to a camera with out stretched arms..... if you know what im saying. The field is good, but pictures lie. Every angle is different, the cab of the sprayer, boots on the ground, and the internet. Trust the first 2 angles.

No dry P in this seedrow, all sideband, there's a difference when you do a test strip

Been awhile since I've had canola leaves the size of my hands. XXL. One of my liberty's this year, a Brevant of se number I think. Ya, the latest greatest not always best, but here we have to keep up with clubroot resistance.

I had my glasses off when I first looked at it. Thought it was potatoes.

That’s a county road today. No trucks hauling feed outta there anytime soon.
Cows are hinting at us about getting an ark ready.............

Quite dewy here this morning. Hope I don't regret not doing some fungicide. It hasn't been bad though and doesn't stay wet real long. The canopy isn't thick.....kinda airy. Might do our seed wheat only.

Boy is there a new thick crop of weeds in some places. Everything was just waiting for a rain to germinate, well we at least got enough for that now.

Lots of weeds are showing up in early sprayed fields. Showers and heat are what weeds love.

the Dew you speak of what is that.

Dry to the west of me the crop needs a drink fast. It has to be 5 o'clock somewhere. Highway 6 to Highway 35 corridor is the drought. Oh, it's just a little area to Sask Ag and Food. **** I hate to listen to there crop reports.

I would barely be in that corridor, being a mile and a half west of #35.

There was no "waiting" to spray for this recent flush of weeds.....the rain came too late and crop staging was correct for herb app. Can't weed spray when the crops are heading.
