Environmental groups on both sides of the border continually and successfully use the courts to stop development, the only difference in Canada the government decided to buy and build the pipeline. The only reason they did this was the approval process had become so convoluted that private industry had given up and you call this a success?!

The we can dispel the myth that Trudeau is anti oil then because he purchased the pipeline to get it built which is what is happening. Agreed?

The process is long and costly but according to Globe it is working better than the US. Both countries have significant regulations affecting pipelines. And is not just only environmentalists who oppose pipelines it is farmers, land owners, states and community groups for a variety of reasons.

Industry has always fought against regulations. But we decided long ago that dumping untreated industrial waste water into lakes and rivers was bad. Agreed?

So environmental protection is necessary. How much and how far we go is the question.
