Our resource sector gets shut down with a stroke of a pen.
Maybe chuck can write one of his witty retorts and work the harper or trump boogeyman in for good measure. What about that $16 orange juice. That was a bad one.
Why the hell the west is still in confederation I will never know.

Facts from the Globe and Mail:
"This country’s regulatory system is still too slow, but its rigour is delivering a better result than south of the border. The all-Canadian Trans Mountain expansion is under construction and will be in service in just more than two years. The Canadian section of Line 3 is finished; the American section is in limbo. While Keystone XL’s northern section moves forward, its southern end remains stuck in purgatory."
This doesn't fit with the myth that Trudeau has shut down the energy industry does it?
Does Trudeau control the world price of oil or the very large increase in US production because of the fracking revolution? Nope.

The only reason they did this was the approval process had become so convoluted that private industry had given up and you call this a success?!
The process is long and costly but according to Globe it is working better than the US. Both countries have significant regulations affecting pipelines. And is not just only environmentalists who oppose pipelines it is farmers, land owners, states and community groups for a variety of reasons.
Industry has always fought against regulations. But we decided long ago that dumping untreated industrial waste water into lakes and rivers was bad. Agreed?
So environmental protection is necessary. How much and how far we go is the question.
Mulroney was a Conservative but also believed protecting the environment is important.
