    Saskatchewan election issues???????

!. Spending 4 billion of taxpayers money on projects that have zero return to taxpayers....zero...nada..nothing....proof -----the existing three districts at Riverhurst, Outlook and Lucky Lake that are still receiving 40 dollars an acre for the foreseeable future.

    2. Having to spend further taxpayers money to entice processors to the province....proof----the protein industry is sucking hundreds of millions of taxpayers dollars to set up shop...same thing will happen with anything related to getting any company here....if they don't set up in Manitoba first....

    3. How did Saskatchewan government miss the opportunity on the pea fractionization plants that went to Manitoba where there are less peas and lentils grown????

    4. No commitment to rest of agriculture in the province since there is no money to help young people start farming ....proof if you want irrigation its a million dollar a quarter subsidy ....if you want to start farming -you borrow the money

    5. Is the Sask Party really helping farmers or just helping the industries that live off farmers?

    6. Since they have found 4 billion maybe a better crop insurance system would be due ....like the way they calculate a farm's average yield....how about factoring in fertilizer and reducing the average years to calculate yields to 3 years and then run the agristabilty program on those yields ? There are programs that can predict yield based on fertilizer applied and rainfall received that can be accurate....

    7. Agri recovery could have been used for unharvested acres last fall ...they could have seen a repayment when guys recovered....

    8. An APP for rating your mental health????????? Really that's the best they could do...My guess is mental health issues are 90 percent financial strain.

This isn't an endorsement for the NDP but eventually the Sask Party has to quit taking farmers for granted -- our vote is worth more than we are receiving...

Just some forward thinking for after harvest or maybe combine conversations....

I agree on all points but here is my reply.

    Ryan Who?

The NDP elected a total fool, get out of needing the useless unions and create a new back to their roots party.

Boom you have a horse race in Saskatchewan.

But don’t change and you will get the same results.

Yup but there is nothing wrong with a strong opposition...not happening here in Saskatchewan...I really wonder what is wrong with the NDP....

The current set of those supporting the Saskparty is that they are more socialist than the NDP....proof....they are wasting 4 billion of taxpayers dollars on a white elephant for no more than 300 farmers....while the rest of us watch....

At least the NDP could do the math 50 years ago on the West Side Irrigation and realize it would be a money pit....

There is over 70000 acres of cadillac irrigation in the three existing large irrigation districts....less than 10 percent is currenting being used for higher value crops after 30 years....some one should start thinking....

Its also very annoying to see these so called capitalist farmers support the Saskparty when they are looking for government handouts to the tune of a million dollars a quarter ...isnt that a socialist/NDP way???

And it sure would be nice to know how this 4 billion dollar project benefits the masters of Lyle Stewart and Lyle himself.

Bucket, while you are correct that the taxpayers will never see a return on their investment from the revenue of the final project, there will be a benefit to taxpayers during the construction and to some extent the maintenance of the project. However unless we see massive private investment in value added food processing in the province the government will never get their money back.

I didn't really answer your question, for the Sask Party there are no rural election issues because according to the latest poll they have the support of 75% of rural voters.

If you look at Riverhurst and Outlook .....they both had railways and elevators that should have serviced the higher production from irrigation....that infrastructure is gone....Riverhurst has a secondary highway....

In the Qu'appelle South district the elevator is closed at Eyebrow in the heart of the area....which would be good for the higher production...and service all farmers and the highway they just rebuilt was secondary....some vision Lyle Stewart has when they talk about a 4 billion dollar project for years but don't have the vision to build a primary highway

Because who is kidding who....these pivots will not be growing higher value crops anytime soon...the existing districts prove it...

Riverhurst is a cadillac system....all on a pipeline and you can run the pivot from a smartphone....push button control....

Yet they just grow a few potatoes ....but mostly wheat, durum ,canola, flax, lentils ....matter of fact in 2016 there was 3500 acres of the 12000 acres in the Riverhurst project that were lentils under the pivots.

Oh yes , there use to be a school , more farmers, more community all consolidated to a few farmers that were lucky enough to use government funding to make it happen while saying they cant afford their water bill...Good thing they write the cheques to the Sask party while adopting the NDP/ socialist ways.

The processors will require funding from government or they won't come either....proof...The pea protein plant that ended up in Manitoba to Merit foods...they will be trucking the peas from Saskatchewan...

One super B a day will fill the demand for that latest 100 million dollar project through protein industries canada....yippee

What’s the price of pea protein. SeemS like every year as production increases the price of the pea protein decreases

There’s an outfit locally which buys heated canola to extract protein and make livestock feed product. Got me thinking these protein fractioning plants are probably the same thing. Who’s to say they don’t take moldy peas and burnt canola to make an impossible burger. Those black fabas that come off last fall instead of going to the pig barn go for beyond meat burgers at A&W. 🤮

Sadly the main issue is that we have a government that feels they are above the people, they don’t have to have any ideas, their mlas are practically non existent as far as representing rural issues and I think urban likely as well. They can not even respond to your concerns and get away with it because of the scarey old ndp and the non existent current opposition.

It’s really a sad situation no ideas no nothing about the future not even about today except catering to their high paying donors.

                          3 million to the Roughriders?????

I don't care how big a fan you are they can ask the shareholders or season ticket holders to cough up some dough....

Or they can mortgage the stadium they were gifted....

Or they can just phuck off.

If the NDP could get their shit together before the next election maybe the corruption would stop...

the very things the MLAs rallied against years ago are now common place....

Taxes are sky-high on everything from insurance to milk jugs. Ridiculous when heaps of money are being squandered. Shameful!
