IMHO, the most disturbing aspect to come out of this is that there is no institution that may be trusted any more - government, bureaucracy, the courts, law enforcement - it's coming to the point of every man for himself.

Remember trump hand picked Barr who oversaw the gathering of the search. You are correct there is skepticism that honesty exists at the levels of authority not influenced by the Politics that get to their positions.
