What is net in farmer's pocket. When do they get their cash and when do you get yours.

Ontario's price versus CWB price at your farm Al? Less all freight/handling.

get your speaking notes from Mr. White and then answer.

We are at a freight disadvantage. I would love to have 10 million consumers living on my doorstep. That is not the real world.

          What's your point?

The numbers you are comparing are bogus. Ontario wheat farmers get an $18.00 protein adjustment for wheat over 12.5. So add 49 cents to your numbers.

What is the net price at your farm Al? How much are you getting TODAY for wheat dropped in the pit versus HOPE that the CWB won't screw it up again for the balance of the year? Answer the questions.

            That is my point.

The number that Ontario Wheat show is the actual price for dropping grain in their pit and then you add protein payments.

ND wheat this morning is quoted in Canadian dollars at $5.17 without protein premiums. And last I looked, they had 1 million people on their doorstep.

We don't market wheat in Canada as a country. We segregate east versus west.

At your next Board meeting, maybe its time to have Sheila Fraser in to look at the books too. Thats is what a fiscally prudent director would do.

              look here

              http://www.bertholdfarmers.com/

Berthold Farmers Elevator new crop price is $3.60 US which converts to 4.76 CDN. Where are you getting your prices?

Add 49 cents to $5.08 and you get $5.57 which is still 25 cents short of yesterdays fixed price. By the way todays price is up 3 cents.

You obviously didn't believe Shiela last time, why would you belive her if she did it again?

Back to canola we are going to try and buy Novemeber 360-370 Puts for $10.00. Crop insurance rates are to low ($315) basis levesl (New Crop) too wide (12-25)
                  it is dry!

DTN - North Dakota Cash Grain Bids

Do you have an aversion to answering questions?

What is the net price at your farm Al? How much are you getting TODAY for wheat dropped in the pit versus HOPE that the CWB won't screw it up again for the balance of the year?

The last time Sheila looked at the books they weren't cooked like they were this year.

I guess I just don't understand your form of english.

"How much are you getting TODAY for wheat dropped in the pit versus HOPE that the CWB won't screw it up again for the balance of the year? "

That must be some type of rhetoric.

I don't get DTN on my internet connection so I can't find you North Dakota Cash bids - they seem to be wrong. I confirmed the Berthold cash price by phone. Give me something I can click on.

On the Canola question. Berthold is quoting $12.75 cash for canola today.

ADM in Velva, North Dakota has better bids on canola than they do by 74 cents CAD a bushel.

What does that tell you about their wheat bid?

I know that is 12.75 per 100wt. Berthold just happens to be one of the closest elevators to Canada for comparison. They may be at a freight disadvantage to other ND locations. You can't ignore freight. Dan at Berthold is a very successful competitor. The farmers who sell their wheat there don't always get the best price in the country. Competition works both ways.

I have a long answer to your previous question about what I am getting in my elevator today for wheat. I will start a new post when I get a chance.

                                Cropduster,

You do what you have to with your time and I will do what I have to with mine. I have found this constructive and entertaining.

I hope we have entertained and educated many others in spite of the very limited few who contribute here. If I am wrong perhaps I should do something else with my time. It does for the most part appear to be wasted here.
