    Canola rally

    Nice "fall" rally in canola....

What are local terminal bids in your area?

Remember, there is no such thing as low harvest bids.....even in a rally.

ps, our wheat yields are 80% of last year's so far, and I don't expect it to get any better.

Nope, not in Ghetto Central, the official Ghetto of Western Canadian Agriculture.

We would easily win the GhettoVille competition every year.

Local bids are an extra .25-.50 cents/bu. here. Haven’t been very far from home but this years canola crop was never going to be exceptional and the heatwave has given an odd look to canola fields. Large yellow patches are holding very small rapidly maturing seeds. Many of which will slip out the back of combines.

Yields off last year? i go on twitter and all i see is pics of the yield monitor showing sky high yields with the latest and greatest new variety. Makes me wonder why i even farm!

Anyone living close to a crusher has a definite price advantage.

vvalk chimed in on an old tread and proved that.(although I don't recall the delivery time frame or which futures month he was using)

I guess if companies have a $50+ basis they must not want the canola, right?

10.34 and a minus .86 basis dont strike me as much of rally.

$11 locally. Not sure we will get to our last stuff in time for that special but guess someone will.

It will probably disappear as soon as Canola harvest gets ramped up

But didn't the cargill man say in the WP that there was going to be a 7M tonne carry out this summer? If big carry outs cause fall rallies make the carry out bigger. Stats can must have some yield BS ers on there phone lists these days.
