Friday Crop Report on a Thursday!

Crops here are 2/3 of last year. No Canola touched yet but close to finishing our durum. No Rain-No Grain.

Dekalb 7565, went nearly all black in 3 days of heat, seeds will not big or plump when dry. Yes big swath but combine will tell. Later canola hardly filling pods. Yes leaning east. Brett Young appears half leaning, half standing, very strange looking fields. Will be all cut today.

It helps out at road speeds to keep you on the road only time the hydraulic is used.

I’m just saying in 2020 having 49 isn’t a bumper.

Yes ours are all over the map from good to poor but it’s all about the rain and where it went. Yard is over 6 and where I am today is 2.2. Variable but a average. All day I listen to radio and it’s bumper bumper bumper.

Now Manitoba ag and a few others are starting to realize the extreme heat took yield.

Ok I agree with you but we’re in a wet area normally. You don’t shoot for 100 wheat. On most years you go for what you know you can grow.

All i am saying is all day all we hear is a bumper crop it’s just not there.

Period. I hate bs crop reports I bet in two years I’ll be right again. Canola crop isn’t there.

Yes its light years ahead. All colors should be afraid not just the green ones we have.

Price tag is out of range but if I can replace 2 in canola, well now we are talking. Bring it back in the wheat, we’ll see. Not much can touch our deeres with the parts we have in them. Same as our red one years ago, it could take wheat when setup.

I can talk a little about CLAAS....I had two 9670 deeres that i think were premium units....took a ride in my brothers lexion 740 in a flax crop....we had the same acres left ....he finished before us with one and didn't have to listen to the sound of a combine sounding like it was coming apart....

SO the 740 is easier on fuel...auto pilot will drive you nuts....brother was 55bpa in wheat in 2018 at 6 mph at 50 percent engine load....nothing behind....

Not so much like the cab...but I don't buy a combine for creature comforts ...I remember 750 masseys and 7720 deere....as long as I am cool and out of the dust...all good...

Deere should be a little worried ....not just because of CLAAS though ....

Lexion rules the roast currently in this area, but again one if the only combines designed specifically for small grains and higher MOG rates.

We will continue to be on the outside looking in for a while yet, hail and two bad harvests combined with ridiculous new prices will keep us looking for good used ones maybe in two years it Mother Nature quits being so ignorant in this area .

Quality not great due to hail damage so $12 greens now maybe $6 -$7 .

Early canola being cut.
Only 100 acres left and all ours is down.
Viterra picked up all bly we have combined.
Must be a beer shortage?
Hope rain stays away till Oct 1st.

Well I find it funny how finally experts are realizing the 2020 canola crop has issues. It did two weeks ago when the heat started. A bake oven is a bake oven. Happened before.

Not climate change just western canada.

Got going on peas yesterday afternoon at 19 % moisture. Got down to 18 today and now raining. Yielding about half of last year from to much June rain. The pic is from a good part of the field. There are spots where the yield monitor says 0
