    School

So school starts for our kids tomorrow. Actually it’s on Tuesday since half the kids go Monday and the other half start Tuesday. Not sure the logic on that but anyways ............

Are your kids doing home schooling or going back? I think the classrooms will be a lot less crowded around here after talking to others. The kids miss their friends and will have to adapt to lots of changes. Back to 6am waking up to catch the bus......... Yippee

    Just curious

Going back. 3 to high school, one grade 7. The high school system here is going to have one class at a time, all day every day for 5 weeks, then a final exam and move on to the next class. Dropout numbers should explode

      Sounds awful.
My grade 9er starts Thursday, mask mandatory.
      Told 20-30% are home schooling.

2 heading back but still considering home school until this insanity gets straightened out.

No recess anymore, later start, 2.5hr in class am, 2.5 hrs in pm, go home for lunch. Mandatory masks which I dont think will work. Kids arent going to sit with a mask on for 5 hrs.

Soon as a couple kids cough the schools will probably be evacuated.

I dont like the fact that they start tracing if that happens and can quarantine your household. Big overreach by govt.

Going back here. School boards and schools doing the best they can. Taking lots of criticism but they are trying hard, cant please everyone. Personally doubt they will stay open, couple cases spreading through and will all get shut down. Have thought about home schooling, have one that would do great and the other would not but both need to have some social interaction to develop into adults.

Have already been homeschooling here. We have been getting MANY calls for advice and for curriculum ideas, etc. I think we could make a living being homeschool consultants. Lol

Seems like those who can, are sure thinking about it with the conditions right now.

It’s a commitment. It ain’t easy. It ain’t cheap. We still pay education taxes for nothing in return. Some days you know it’s worth it, some days you want that yellow bus to show up at 6 am. Lol.

Why are you considering home school if you don’t believe the virus is dangerous?

Will testing of all children be mandatory at some point?

Low % of homes able to home school properly. Tutors will be in high demand.
My son has mild special needs and will soon have lost a year of his life for SFA.

Not the virus I am afraid of. Its the near Gestapo prison conditions they are imposing on our kids. That's doing way more harm than anything. I fear our govt and elected morons more than anything.

There are about a million reasons in today’s society to homeschool. Let the guy consider at least. My guess is it has nothing to do with the fake virus.

Lol, never saw your post there Jazz.
