Haha. Right idea for sure. Too much work to build. Tall tree, rope, horse. Keep it simple.

Are you sure that was someone not working or someone that needed it for their operation?

I once supposedly lost a fuel cap off my combine one that had the small chain connected to it. I phoned the local dealer and he said jeez must be forgetful people in our area. I said why’s that he said a guy not to far from me was looking for one the day before. I said did you sell him one he said no those are hard to come by no Dealers around had one in stock. Mine accidentally must have fell off after I parked it for the night no dust or straw in the tank. Lol.

Big Wheel, a fellow farmer? Noooo! Remember the farmer who had a long list of stolen farm machinery near Saskatoon a few years ago. I thought all farmers were honest and law abiding citizens!

We have a had a few incidents over the years of missing items. There are some career thieves at work but some of them are occasional opportunists!

Most are career thieves that never hardly worked a day in their lives . Kinda like Trudeau, hardly worked and honest day in his life , people kind like that think it’s their birth right to steal from others hard work

When you have no concept of having to work for a living you have no respect for those that do ..... it’s very evident now a days .....

Have got in the habit of locking my vehicle in the field. pain in the ass but hey so is dealing with insurance. Have never locked the shop in 30 years. Now it too has a lock, not to deter them but so I know something is missing...
We just hide the keys in a pair of work boots or gloves .... seems to work .....

The thieves work in spurts around here too. A month ago was really bad here. Nothing in the field is left in sight from any road and everything is locked with the keys stashed away. Sometimes dad hides them good enough that nobody can find them😉

Five years ago never had an issue with anything. Now most of the neighbourhood has gates and it feels so unwelcoming. Really sad situation.

I suppose ignorance is bliss since it happens around here too, but the biggest problem I have with theft is getting calls from the police that they found my stolen car abandoned on a lease road, keys still in it. Apparently I am the only farmer who uses a car for a run around vehicle, and leaves it in the feild, where some good samaritan can report it as stolen.
