I hate to say it but, I’ll believe it when I see it. The Indians and environmental groups will have their day.

The route avoids B.C. specifically to keep enviro-kooks out of the equation. The governments of Alaska, USA, Alberta, Yukon, NWT should all be in agreement that this railway will improve the quality of life and economy for the areas it passes through.

The main concern is the evil Trudeau government stopping it to attack Alberta.

Rail might be an easier sell in this country because its multi modal compared to just pipelines. Can carry out every type of product and take goods back into the interior and ferry passengers and tourists both ways.

Some article mentioned a fibre line in the ROW too so there are added benefits.

And the life of rail is much longer than pipelines so the economics accrue over a longer period.

Pipeline companies own a good part of the conservative governments so guess why rail has been on the back burner? Didn’t the ndp in Alberta propose oil by rail and it was mocked as so stupid all of a sudden it’s a great idea? Lmao.

We don’t need to sell oil to still have oil operating engines here. I ve said it all along the climate thing hasn’t been proven to me at all, but the world demand is telling us what everyone else thinks. We should be selling oil cheaper than anywhere else domestically that would develop other industries that maybe then could use the train idea. But that would be a plan that would involve cutting off funds to the conservative parties of the country from pipelines etc. It would even be better for you but you don’t want that because you’d have to have a mind open to progress not just your favorited political party.

Gezus wheel, Undercutting world price to sell oil domestically was already tried once and just about ended our energy industry.

Why is it just oil you want to price control? If oil price can be controlled so can anything including your grain price.

We are in a world market for all our products, ones we use and ones we produce. Price controls is socialism.
