What is the return on time invested of posting anti Trump stories on a Canadian forum in the lead up to the election?

Crop insurance premiums, ag invest, ag stability, fuel tax rebates, plant breeding and research etc. And some economists describe supply management industries and import tariffs as a subsidy which they are not in my opinion. I think with supply management included the OECD says Canadian farmers receive 8 or 9% of their income from subsidies. That may not be the correct number but we can sort out the details later. FCC as a government lender to farmers is also giving preferential treatment to farmers that may not be available from other sources in some cases. A form of support. There will be more examples because 10 provinces have there own ag programs and I don’t kNow them all. What are the combined federal provincial ag budgets less administration across Canada? That will give a pretty good idea what the subsidies and support to ag are except for tax incentives and rebates.

I didn’t say they were good programs did I? LOL. Whether they work well or not crop insurance premiums are paid for by the feds, provinces and farmers. It’s a subsidy. Agristabilty payments come from taxpayers except for a small fee to apply. That’s a subsidy!

Check offs pay for a lot of research and variety development but Ag Canada And the provinces provide other research and development that doesn’t come from check offs.

Agriculture in Canada is subsidized to some degree. We certainly don’t have the same levels of support that exists in The EU or the USA. But I am always amazed how free market farmers are always upset by the fact that they dont receive more subsidies and support like Trump gives his farmers to buy their votes! LOL
