Now how about discussing why a group of women works better than a mixed group?

Women aren’t generally comfortable discussing their ideas and views in front of men. Especially strange men. There’s almost always at least one loud, derogatory, laughing man (like the forums infamous LOLer) and that will shut the women down. Now they’re just sitting there, “counting” but not contributing.

This is why women only field days are taking off. I’ve said it on here before, when given the option between a field day with women only and a mixed field day, I will always go with the women only. It’s in my comfort zone more. I will talk more, discuss more, take home more, than in a mixed environment.

Plus then women also get to just chat with other women. Something that doesn’t always have a lot of opportunity to happen.

Talking or hosting a group of women isn’t about disclosing the men, it’s about actually getting the women to engage and interact.

You can bet on that and all this program is doing for the most part is more favorable terms on the new quarter of land. The cash portion is done with CEBA. In this area with the crappiest crop in 40 yrs, land values have started to go up again. Wonder why.

How many schtoopit comments have I made or not schmart questions did I ask? Lots.

Lots of men leave their balls at home on the dresser when it comes to speaking at meetings in public too.

Oh I’m sure they do. A couple loud mouth pricks can ruin anything for anyone.

Women are just lucky enough that we can have female only things and weed out most of those types 😂

2 digs aimed at Chuck in one thread by Blaithin, well done. Between you and Flea beetle, I think I can retire and let you two take over.

I wasn’t being specific to him, other than the LOL comment.

But if the shoe fits 🤷*♀️

                Ha hahahaha

In a thread courting the idea that there’s sexism in the world/agriculture, the forum can’t figure out the female shrugging emoji 😂

And the best part, is that he has no idea we are even talking about him, because the thread title has the word farm in it, so he doesn't read it.

                    Need to edit that.
If the Birkenstock Sandal fits... definitely not a steel toed work boot.

Because men like to stare at female appendages. And overall they just like chatting up a PYT. Men like to think they’re charming.

Generally they’re less likely to go 0 to asshole in 30 seconds flat with pretty, younger girls.

They don’t think the girls know anything anyway so have no expectations of a resolution from that situation and will be put off to another time.

Girls are more likely to be thankful they have a job in the field they want, even when treated like shit by the customers (or co workers).

                      Cheaper wages.

                      Better people skills.
Mic Drop on top of shutting up Bucket's endless whining in at least one thread. Thank you kindly, you win Agriville today.

I can make her any colour I want. Although chances are the forum will just make her a blond man.

Oh, no I get to be a brown haired man instead! 🤣

As long as the women are discussing lack of transparency, the 45 boats at the west coast ,plugged elevators etc etc ...its all good....

I am not whining about anything unless facts are considered whining. ..

As I said in one one of my posts I have no problem with women in agriculture....my wife is a great combine operator and my daughter is great with horses and pushing cattle. ..both love the farm and I include them ....

But like all younger people entering this industry there has to be some money to be made in this...and they may have to be subsidized to get started. ...male or female. ...

                              Hope that makes more sense.

Why, are those the only issues?

Can they not talk about other things?

Dangers of working alone. Struggles with childcare. Health and safety on the farm. Remote schooling. Mental health.

All concerns that are more likely to be voiced by women than men.

It’s not like by having a round table with 25 women, somebody is filling up their capacity and can, in no way, listen to men about other concerns.

Do you also get all worked up when the beef producers or hog guys or chicken fellows sit down and chat? After all, they aren’t going to be talking about elevators and boats either.

If you have concerns, work to get them heard. Don’t get grouchy that somebody else is getting to talk but they aren’t talking about the things you would.

My concerns are not your concerns but that doesn’t make them any less valid. I wouldn’t begrudge you the opportunity to voice and discuss yours so why do you begrudge others?
