This is recorded "growing season" moisture for my region since 1961. 200-225mm is pretty standard fare April 1 to sept 30. Non growing season moisture is generally minimal. Chinooks typically nuke it off 4+ times during the winter. I think we had 4 spring breakup periods last winter...

Luckly most of our rain comes during our crop season. Hope that is clear.
How’s harvest in your area horse?

There aren’t many places in Saskatchewan that averages over twenty inches (500 mm) of precipitation a year. But that is us.

Coupled with much cooler temperatures than most other places, and yep, it’s like Scotland.

Below average, too wet then to dry straw short, havent realy heard how canola was but from what I see im thinking well below average. Right now dry dry large cracks in ground real hard . Could be real bad if no timely rains yet or in spring. Pastures gone lots feeding some already. Good thing the hay is plentiful, and cheap. Real glad im more of a bystander than an actual combatant.
First time in 53 yrs I dont have a crop,,just hay and pasture mostly rented out, I think I could get used to this.

Helmsdale, I think , hell I know, our soil moisture reserves are in overdraft. If we are going to put any money in the bank or add to the moisture reserves in the soil bank in 2021..... we're going to need above average rainfall next year. Sucks knowing I'm heading into next year with a soil moisture deficit. Will it balance itself like the Federal budget? ...some day, but I know there's nothing I can do about it but manage my part of the equation.
