Or Covid social distancing medication?
Ummmm it was just defrosting to be spread on some buns for sandwiches while watching the train in the spiral tunnels. Best “social distancing tool†is a stock prod or just start coughing 😎

Rained last night but we got the call to head north and help finish a friend off. Probably a Section or more of oats.
Friends to the West have 10 quarters of Canola and a few others are heading that way.
See we still care about neighbours in our area.
Happy Friday.
Oh, Trudeau will try to Screw us some way today. Phone a friend in Ontario and thank them for the shit for brains they elected.

Harvest 2020 is a wrap here at 1:30am tonight. I discovered a Challenger 670 can move 13 miles and cover 119.9 out of 120 acres before running out of fuel😉. Darn gauge quit working with a bunch of sensors due to electrical gremlins. Luckily I was able to prime it up and run it to get the hopper off to avoid bringing the truck back in the morning. The kids hung out all day with me which was awesome and they’ll be disappointed in the morning to find out they have to wait a year till they can run it again.
After an hour he had the steering nailed down pretty good. I think he enjoyed it just a little 😎
Yields were less than expected on barley that looked amazing. Canola, I had extremely low (lower than ghetto low) expectations and it satisfied those. Now to finish Hay 2020 tomorrow hopefully so we can enjoy thanksgiving ................. kinda. Our oldest daughter has a cough so the in-laws would rather not have us. In the words of our neighbour......... F@#kin’ covid🤬
Enjoy your turkey or preferably a juicy steak😉whether it’s at a table or on a tailgate in the field.
P.S. It’s the first year in five that our crops never got snowed on. I’m very thankful for that. ðŸ»

Woodland. I recognized the interior of that Agco. Yup they're thirsty machines. I assume a Cat is in it?
Best is the kid. Getting him addicted early are ya? No wonder it's in some people's psyche, soul and every thread of the fabric that makes them up. Keep them safe.
Take care man.

Always trying to improve the safety here too. Enough crazy **** happens here without trying.
Days like that more than make up for crummy ones that seem to come along😎

I was quite negative and probably depressed off and on for the last couple years. Mostly it was related to the weather and how every decision I made seemed backwards and how things seemed to be slipping away from me. Always picking the wrong crops, insurance, marketing and Ma Nature slapping me in the head drug me down and then I kept rehashing it over and over. Finally last fall after making nearly every acre of hay into silage bales due to constant rain and having hardly any hay to sell that I needed to quit griping/moaning and not worry about it and other things beyond my control.
Turns out the grain and yearlings sold better than expected last winter. Then we upgraded the grain dryer and it took away the stress of harvest. Still have next to no hay for sale this year since it got chopped or rained on badly, cattle prices are down, grain yields were off 20 bushels from last year, and we’re still in the game.
Actually had thanksgiving supper today with my family and it’s the first time we had the crop off (not counting 30 acres of crummy second cut) since I met my wife 16 years ago. Felt strange to relax and enjoy it at a table instead of a tailgate😉
I have the most amazing wife who can pull me out of a negative spiral when I start slipping away. I am truly blessed to have her and a healthy happy family.
Thanks farmboy
P.S. If anyone is down and out and needs someone to talk or vent to just pm me. I’ve been there and it’s highly overrated.
