We have friends or relatives in every province in Canada.
Even in the hot bed of Quebec.
Not 1 of them know anyone who has had the Korn hole virus?

That sums up how some Conservatives view issues. If it hasn't directly affected me then its not a problem and no need to worry!

I don’t know why the risk factor of Covid is so tough to grasp. People have become slaves to anecdotes on Facebook with no understanding of acceptable risk.

Under 40 you have nothing to worry about. Even in poor health you have nothing to worry about. 27 people under 40 have died in Canada so far.

Under 50, or even under 60, and you are healthy with no preexisting conditions and you are not overweight, you have nothing to worry about.

Under 70 depending on health you should be concerned.

Over 70 and especially over 80 you should be very concerned

Over 70 with preexisting conditions or overweight, you should probably still be staying at home and having family drop groceries off, or only shopping at stores that have mandatory masks if you don’t have family who can drop things off for you.

Under 50 should be playing hockey, going to church, going to events, going to school, without worry and helping someone over 70-75+stay home by shopping for them and maybe FaceTiming every day so they don’t get lonely. This is solvable problem without a widespread lockdown.

So who is staffing all the healthcare facilities? If you want to protect seniors and vulnerable people you need to avoid an uncontrolled pandemic that will put many seniors at risk of death.

The other reason to slow the spread is to not overwhelm the healthcare system and put all kinds of people who require treatment from many different health care issues. If all the ICU beds are full where do the accident victims, heart attacks, strokes and cancer patients expected to go?

Thirdly, if many people are sick all at once and want to avoid infecting others guess what, many businesses and industries will shut down anyway.

Do you think Doug Ford a notable Conservative wanted to put tougher restrictions back in place in Ontario if they weren't needed?

The bloody WHO, that bedrock of scientific thought, just came out and said that lockdowns will not stop the virus, but they have done a bang up job of doubling the poverty rate.

Man people are just so dumb. Now we have an irreversible economic fiasco on our hands and 25% of the population will be carrying the other 75% forever.

https://www.news.com.au/world/coronavirus/global/coronavirus-who-backflips-on-virus-stance-by-condemning-lockdowns/news-story/f2188f2aebff1b7b291b297731c3da74 Coronavirus: WHO backflips on virus stance by condemning lockdowns

The World Health Organisation has backflipped on its original COVID-19 stance after calling for world leaders to stop locking down their countries and economies.

Dr. David Nabarro from the WHO appealed to world leaders yesterday, telling them to stop “using lockdowns as your primary control method” of the coronavirus.

He also claimed that the only thing lockdowns achieved was poverty – with no mention of the potential lives saved.

“Lockdowns just have one consequence that you must never ever belittle, and that is making poor people an awful lot poorer,” he said.

Since when did you believe anything the WHO says? And why are you suddenly worried about poor people? It's their own damn fault they're poor! They are just lazy. Get a job! LOL

How is my spin idiotic? I simply took the number of deaths from covid in the US and divided by the number of days and the seats on a 737 to see how many plane crashes would have accounted for the same number of deaths. I believe if we were seeing 6 crashes of 737s a day, something would be done to reduce the number of crashes. Doing nothing is not an option in my opinion.

You respond with a meme saying American soldiers were faced with almost certain deaths when in fact the number of deaths from Covid out paces the soldiers death in WW2 except you were so eager to post you did not even fact check the meme to realize that by your comparison of soldier deaths in WW2 Covid is more dangerous than being a soldier.

People are going to die from Covid. The goal is to minimize deaths. So if you want to blame Trudeau for 10,000 deaths fine by me. But than you also have to admit Trump is even more at fault given under his watch more people have died in the world from Covid than anywhere else. Are you willing to admit that?

The death count is suspicious, first issue. Counting any and all types to skew numbers, in every country.
