Canola inching towards $600 on farm spread between wheat and barley narrowing wheat falling barley rising.

Legumes peas faba beans lupins flat nomarket movement but above average on offer.
$600 canola............. been a loooooong time since that happened here. You can do about $525 picked up here now which is really decent in my eyes.

P.S. How did your “2.99” tonne crop end up when you finished it? Although with rounding we all know where that puts it.............😉

I was referring to the arithmetic............. the nudey run is a byproduct of that result 😉

I just noticed you said seven buyers on a Sunday?? Heck we hardly have seven buyers on Monday to Friday and nothing on the weekend. You guys are way ahead of us with choice and options.

              Your canola pricing is interesting.

So much for harvest lows, 😳

Interesting how your pricing is higher than ours here.
              - We have a large North American market , can’t be a freight issue
              - we have a large crush industry, so local crush vs export market, so you would think that it’s competitive

              Anyone know why?

Another reason export sales are needed - prime example?

Rareearth, most of the domestic crush plants are also owned by exporting GrainCos. So in my egotistical opinion there isn't as much competition as meets the eye.

Probably a large part is supply.

Australia grows what, 4 mmt of canola a year?

Also North America has a competing soy bean market. I’ve never heard of soybeans as a large crop in Aus.

Cant give youva answer domestic crush here minimal.

Close to south east asai perhaps.

Today saturday @m only about six buyers active some samecas yesterday some down $2 despite rise in futures market

Australias canola cropbwithout doubt will be biggest in history.

Guess were picking up the slack in Canadas shortage.

Market intelligence suggest world canola supply is only going to be down a few % in whole wash up hence aussies are active sellers at these prices farmers and exporters alike.

                      FYI

Rough calculations cost me $230 per ha to grow my canola farmer seed of course.

                      Income $591 per ha.

                      Yield 0.96 t ha

Not giggling here. It's all about the margins and it is nice to have a big one.

                          Is the 3 tonne/ha still a possibility?
