More bad news for NDPers,,, Ryan Mieli hangs on to his seat !!!

Just when the Sk NDP party thought that the public threw Mieli under the bus, and wouldn't have to the dirty deed themselves,,, Mieli hangs on!

Now they'll have to go through a painful Leadership Review of Mieli, with the party split on keeping him or sending him down the road themselves.

    popcorn time!

Gormley says there is 500+ more mail-in votes to count when they arrive for this riding. The NDP scrutineers also signed an oath of secrecy to not discuss vote counts until final.

That's crazy, why would he declare victory, while there are more than twice as many votes than the margin you think you've won by???

Is he trying to fend off the next potential leader candidates?

So just like swamp creature Meili trying to hang on as some justification to continue down the same insane path, just like Notley has done.

Has to be utterly destroyed first before anyone with any sense will step in and rebuild it.

But I doubt that will happen. Here in the big cities it keeps going further left especially our mayor.

It sounds like the Regina commies and Saskatoon commies are having a battle for power. The Regina crowd is hoping Meilli loses.

I agree they have to get the message that they need either to reboot or pack it in. It’s in our best interest for them to do so. Anyone celebrating a 50 to 11 election isn’t looking ahead to see what is without a doubt coming. Corruption, unresponsiveness to needs of rhe people, did I mention corruption and inner pocket filling?

Sask. Party's successful election strategy similar to previous NDP governments: professor

"Like past NDP premiers, Saskatchewan Party governments under Brad Wall, and now Scott Moe, have taken a centrist approach in their actual policies, says Rasmussen.

"The irony is they actually govern like the NDP. They have no real free-market fundamentalism. Again, they pledged not to privatize Crown corporations," he said.

"There's very little social conservatism. It's very appealing to a wide swath of voters."

We are getting more monolithic in our preferences than almost any time in the past," he said.

That could lead to problems for rural areas, he said. The Saskatchewan party campaign included very little for rural voters, says Rasmussen.

"The Saskatchewan Party doesn't have to worry about rural voters — they've got them in the bag. And in fact, it's to their detriment in rural Saskatchewan, because parties tend to ignore the voters that always vote for them," he said.

"They're really trying to gain the support of urban voters."

Some farmers have been calling for changes to Agristabilty.

You can be sure the Saskparty and Moe are dragging their feet because this program is cost shared and Moe and company don't want to give farmers any more money. And they don't need too because they have the farm vote secured no matter what they do.

Its a sure sign they are ignoring rural issues except for their carbon tax charade. Saskatchewan already has its own carbon tax for large emitters. Say Waaat?

They could have designed a Saskatchewan carbon tax that could have rebated all the tax back to farmers but they chose to fight the feds and let them impose a carbon tax because it was good for political advanatage.

"On August 29, 2018, the Government of Saskatchewan released its plan to price carbon pollution, based on an output-based performance standards approach, which will be applied only to some of its large industrial facilities."

"It will apply to large industrial facilities that emit 25,000 tonnes or more of carbon dioxide equivalent (CO2e) per year, with the exception of electricity generation and natural gas transmission pipelines. Saskatchewan estimates it will cover approximately 11 percent of the province’s emissions."
