Some perspective pre-covid. ICU capacity in Manitoba is a problem in the best of times.

From the linked article September 2019: "The remaining ICUs are struggling with capacity and staffing," MNU president Darlene Jackson said in a statement.

So if Manitoba has been short of ICU beds before Covid why would Brian Pallister not fix this problem heading into the second wave when it becomes a critical issue?

Instead they have been cutting health care in Winnipeg.

Is this an example of a Conservative government who puts a priority on tax cuts over providing good healthcare?

Perhaps Brian should spend less time in Costa Rica at his holiday home and more time working on Manitoba issues?

Docs have said once MB hits 200 cases per day, hospital resources are overwhelmed in a week or two after that. Wasn't it like 400 and some?

I don't know caseih, but if I were a Manitoban, I would be very concerned. It's not like all the other medical emergencies stop that need critical beds as well.

Yes politics don't belong on discussion, but OMG this is quite serious. If something goes wrong with PPE and medical staff reducing their numbers as well - or even the normal reduction of medical staff by getting covid and looking at facility numbers, bed space without covid etc, it is looking like the perfect storm.

Please be extra careful no matter where you live and please take the pandemic seriously, but hold on to your butts in MB with positivity at 9% and rising. She's gonna be bumpy.
