There will be very little barley left in the country come spring . Everyone I talk to in this area has already shipped their barley out or will be by December.
HRSW locally is very stagnant. Locals refuse to bid decent for it.
It’s like Walmart in this area , lowest price is the law .
Several larger farms here have made deals in either Grains connect in Maymont or G3 in Maidstone for all their wheat .... and I mean lots of tons . These are 15-20,000 ac guys .
There is 4 large elevators here , all refuse to pay Decent for HRSW . They are $.50 to a dollar below almost anywhere in Sask , seems odd that all 4 are that low on HRSW and CPS . Canola , they just stay $.30 to $.50 below Lloyd thinking they will still get it ....
There is a huge amount of grain and canola leaving this area . It’s a head scratcher.

            70 what?

1.5 tonnes of barley is average to get a steer finished.

Nice! We have finally come a full circle after 100 years of being under collective marketing.

Yup we will all be the grainco families slaves..so lucky to have built their storage for them as well...

You really have to thank Gerry Ritz and his naive apprentice Lianne Rood. .

It’s shocking how many options are out there now and how some companies don’t seem to realize that.

We counted terminals within 1.5 hours of here and easily made it past 15 without including specialty ones like Canada Malts. Too long companies were taking advantage of the convenience factor of being a 15 minute drive away. Now they’re being left behind as grain can be hauled quicker on a 3 hour round trip for a better price than a 15 minute drive and 4 hour line up for a lower price.

Trucking companies may be the real benefiters of this situation though.

At least now we have a choice and can act on that choice 👍.
Having no choice is a far far worse situation and was .

Margins must be thin on finishing front, cattle producers how much higher before break even is eroded.

Crazy here wheat easing and barley surging

If barley goes too high they'll just switch to wheat or buy in corn from the States, whichever is cheaper.
