Socialist is an over used word on this site. Most republicans think Conservatives in Canada are all socialist considering most are supportive of Canada's single payer healthcare system.

As disturbing as the comments in this thread are, it was also disturbing to see Trump supporters chanting "Lock Fauci up!" during a recent rally.

The idea that we should lock up public health officials because they disagree with politicians that are giving expert advice that is counter to a politicians political aspirations, is a sign that some Republicans and Conservatives are losing a grip on reality.

Fortunately in Canada our public health experts are widely supported regardless of politics.

If you want to live in a country where politicians lock up and kill political opponents, journalists and public officials who disagree with the leadership, there are several options for you including such wonderful countries as Russia, the Philippines, North Korea among other.

It is this attitude that allowed Trump to win the Presidency last time. Including Florida, where the Cuban refugees already had enough of Marxism, the fly over States, and those "dumb" and "rural" Americans that live there, had enough of the Obama, Clinton, Gore lack of respect for their values, lifestyle, and beliefs. They felt no one listened to them, in fact treated them as ignorant red necks, not "progressive".

Sound familiar? Tweety, Wheel. Chuck, Agstar and Forage, Justine, and Christia all fit in the "progressive" box that derides anyone that doesn't believe in climate change and the whole basket of socialist ideals. The typical Marxist approach of divide, belittle and devalue is employed, just like the Hollywood/Obama/Clinton clique uses. Canada just doesn't yet have a leader that can rally the disenfranchised like Trump did.

Personally, I never liked Trump's lies, adultery and lies about adultery, Billy Bush comments, his reactive tariffs, walls, etc. However, I liked that, if only for 4 years, the people that those so called "progressives" thought they could continue to walk over found a voice. The "progressives" hated Trump but they own it. They made him.
