The North American correspondent i follow in weekend papers called it almost spot on.

Ps hes a right leaning journo but non biased. Reports who he sees it.

Raised question over weekend is conservative poltics dying in usa or was it purely and simply corona virus.

    Bit of both id suggest.

Meanwhile herein oz the elimination phase of corona getting talked about after the hard yards and lockdowns etc coming to a end.

Geographic location and small population guess has helped us and the sledge hammer to break a egg strategy may have worked. Protests and lockdown anger travel restrictions eased across Australia in varying degrees.

Right or wrong what we did who knows i changed my mind a zillion times.

If i was a cafe restaurant owner i would see things differently

Republicans would have won if turnip wasn’t the candidate. The threat of a dictator, association with white supremicists, corruption, failed trade deals and someone that basically cannot manage anything including the virus just was too much. They appear to be afraid of him. Who knows mafia threats etc. He may run in 2024 they won’t win again.

Trump just canned one of rhe top chief of defence because he wouldn’t deploy troops against American citizens. Hopefully hasn’t replaced him with one that will.

                  Today's news (NOV 10)

Hospitals in North Dakota are struggling to deal with a surge of new patients as the coronavirus continues to spread throughout the state. There were 10,865 active cases as of Monday (November 9) with 254 patients currently hospitalized. Over the past six days, the state has set new records for daily cases, with nearly 2,300 new infections reported during that time. Every county in the state is now considered high-risk for COVID-19.

To help alleviate staffing concerns at the overwhelmed hospitals, state health officials announced drastic new measures. Governor Doug Burgum said that nurses who have tested positive for COVID-19 but are asymptomatic can continue to work. He said the request came from hospital administrators and promised that they would take precautions to limit the spread.

Officials in El Paso, Texas, have resorted to using mobile morgues for mounting COVID-19 deaths as hospitals there hit 100 percent capacity.

El Paso County Judge Ricardo Samaniego will extend the city’s lockdown order, set to expire Wednesday, amid a surge in coronavirus-related hospital and ICU numbers over the last 11 days.

“It doesn’t look good,” said Samaniego, according to KFOX 14.

“The hospitals are still not manageable. We’re having an inability to manage fatalities … It leaves me no choice but to lean towards an extension of the order.”

Last weekend, El Paso set up its third and fourth mobile morgue units and Samaniego said a total of 10 will be needed to handle the backlog of deceased COVID patients, the outlet said.

“We’ve got two more that are coming up, and then four additional ones that will be given directly to the funeral homes,” the judge explained...

None of this is anything new. There has been many years, the flu has pushed hospitals to capacity. Which resulted in, no restrictions, no curfews, no buisiness closures, no mass media agenda, and also no mask mandates.

Jordy, did you read the articles you posted or just the headlines. None of the hospitals in the articles were over capacity as they are now. For example, in first article quote: "St. Boniface Hospital has the highest vacancy rate at 18.9 per cent as of December, 2019. Concordia has the lowest, at 8.4 per cent.
Kaminski says they’d ideally like to have 63 ICU beds available across Winnipeg, but currently have only 58 for no other reason than there’s not enough trained staff to operate them."

Second, much of the alarm was shortage of staff rather than hospital beds. In none of the articles were they at the point of telling hospital staff who had the flu to come to work anyway as the governor of North Dakota asked today of nurses who test positive for Covid but are asymptomatic. So me the science that says asymptomatic carriers cannot pass on Covid

Third, none of the articles referred to bringing in refrigerated trucks because the morgues are over flowing as is happening right now in El Paso.

Fourth and most importantly. Covid 19 does not replace influenza. The flue season has not even started and already the hospitals are overflowing. What happens when the flu season hits on top of Covid? If you are right that the health system cannot even handle the seasonal flu in the past then the problems are even more acute this year with Covid on top of the flu!

Price went through resistance going back to 2014. More resistance right here at 11.51 January
