Why not design a provincial plan that would have addressed some of the issues?
Preston Manning a notable "socialist" spoke in favour of carbon pricing as a market driven way of reducing greenhouse gas emissions. If Preston has figured this out why can't Alberta, Saskatchewan and Ontario? Alll the revenue they collect can be spent or rebated anyway they want. Including supporting farmers.

I am expected to pay for carbon emissions on every litre of fuel I purchased but no credit or payment for what my farm is doing for the environment...

IMHO there is a massive opportunity in central sask thats being missed. The south arm of lake dief could be easily converted to another hydro plant. Goodale might have had it right.
That spot should be developed into a second power station and then site a nuclear plant nearby, manage the water flow into the chain lakes area for tourism and other developments and even irrigation draws. You could site some weir power facilities at various points on the system as well.
Billions is my guestimate, but govt is handing cash out like candy. Moe should head to Trudeau with a mea culpa, back off our FF and we will bring your green utopia to life so you can f off to the UN asap.Last edited by jazz; Dec 13, 2020, 09:52.

We will have to rely on the eastern biased Supreme Court to do the right thing or wait for a Conservative majority......if Trudeau is re-elected we will have larger wealth redistribution policies and regulations to worry about.

Here's the Toronto Sun's column on the Blacklocks story.

On the Carbon Tax : Saskatchewan could have collected the tax and given it back to the sequesters while it supported alternative sources like hydro and uranium. It is an option so that the East does not drag out the court case until they sucked us dry.

Like I tell my neighbours when they are buying equipment....the first payment is easy ..its the next 9 you can't have a guarantee on everything working out...
235 million will be more because there is no farm group lobbying against it...effectively.
You have Jocelyn Velestuk as president of SSCA pat herself on the back at the Saskpulse AGM last year then getting on 2 other boards ...Sask wheat and CWRC....tell us where her focus is...other than per diem and insider info.

Fertilizer usage and nitrous oxide emissions are going to get more attention.
