They won't tell you because that would make COVID only deaths a joke.

No way in h*ll every positive has been tested! Could be double, triple that number. So deaths as a percentage of infections are tiny. Similar to all flu that ever happened.

Ummm there was like 35,000 flu deaths in rhe USA 2019. There is already 245,000 covid deaths plus how many indirect? And by the year estimated near 300,000 to 350,000.
Plus the long term side effects that are estimated more than the deaths.

Now let's add all those that will die because covid has overrun the medical system. It is already happening in some hospitals in Mb. ICU are at capacity so don't get sick.

Seems to me ICUs were at capacity long long before covid showed up. I'm getting sick of the sky is falling ,the sky is falling.

It seems the ability to assess risk is gone. Saskfarmers health scare had me googling sepsis. More people die in the US every year from Sepsis than have so far from Covid.

If you are under 50 statistically you have nothing to worry about. If you are over 70 with health problems you need to be hyper vigilant and paranoid. I do all the shopping for my parents and they stay home. This is good risk management. Shuttting everything down, making young healthy people stay home and destroying an economy for possibly a generation is poor risk management.

As of Sept 29th, 77 Canadians under 50 had died (I couldn’t find up to today numbers) and most of those had serious other health issues. It just doesn’t merit the fear and paranoia that we are seeing. If you are under 50 help your parents, elderly neighbours etc. stay home and quarantine. Mask or not they should not be out. If you are under 50 and freaking out about someone wearing a mask or not, take an online math/statistics course maybe that will ease your mind.

Why are you dividing by the population of the US when we are talking death rate.



The only way this would represent a death rate is if every single person in the US has already had Covid.
But we know that is not true given 150,000+ people are getting sick every day now. The only way .0007 would represent a death rate is if there is not another sickness or death in US in the future.

You want to know the death rate divide the confirmed deaths by the confirmed cases. 243,387/10,675,820
=2.28%

I know there are uncounted asyptomatic cases which will distort this percentage. There also may be uncounted deaths. Is this number high. Probably but it is the only way we can compare death rates without 100% testing at this time and this Fatality Case Rate is used to compare death rates from Covid world wide

Right. That wasn’t a “death rate” from Covid I had figured it’s percent of population that has died from Covid so far. I’ll take my chances anyway.

Most of the deaths are the elderly and people with a compromised immune system.
Nobody knows how many people have contracted Covid, most cases are very subtle, I won’t likely get tested unless I’m hospitalized, even if I’m sick, why would I bother getting tested?
