Close the borders. Nobody comes in , nobody goes out . If this would have been done correctly , we would not be going through this as bad as we are now.

So your assumption was that closing the borders would have stopped covid from enterring Canada?

But you don't explain how we would have stopped infected Canadians returning which were also a source of covid infections?

If the borders were closed then that would have meant returning vacationers and travellers would have not been allowed to come home. They did come home and some did not follow the 14 day isolation period and transmitted the virus to others.

Once community spread occurs then closing borders wont solve the problem.

Since this is all hindsight the job now is to limit the spread and impact on healthcare.

If I was sick I’d stay home, now if I was sick and wanted to be tested I’d have to drive at least two hours and wait in a lineup two more hours, probably stop for gas somewhere, maybe even stop for a bite to eat and at minimum put a few people at risk of catching whatever I had.

I congratulate you on your choice. Please stay home if you get sick. All those who demonstrate against health measures, like those in Steinbach did should stay home when they get sick. Don't go to the hospital. If you don't recover at least you will not have burdened the healthcare system or endangered the healthcare workers. Thanks.

Steinbach is one of the hardest hit communities with a stressed hospital overflowing.

You have gotta wonder what is going on in the minds of some of the protesters to protest when peoples lives are at risk? Apparently they believe their individual freedom is more important than trying to stop the spread of covid and save lives?

There is a small percentage of people who can't wear a mask. They can get an exemption.

The rest apparently want the "freedom" to do whatever they choose. If they don't want to wear a mask then they can stay home. But if they go to to a store or an indoor space or anywhere a mask is required, then wear a mask.

Moe needs to put in a province wide mandatory mask order. That way small town business owners don't have to be the bad guys. Why not put it on now before it gets any worse? If it gets worse we will go into full lock down. Mandatory masks and other stricter measures may help to prevent a full lock down.

I have a night off from the hospital. As I’m on my couch with my dog I can’t help but think of the Covid patients the last few days. The ones that stick out are those who still don’t believe the virus is real. The ones who scream at you for a magic medicine and that Joe Biden is

Going to ruin the USA. All while gasping for breath on 100% Vapotherm. They tell you there must be another reason they are sick. They call you names and ask why you have to wear all that “stuff” because they don’t have COViD because it’s not real. Yes. This really happens. And

I can’t stop thinking about it. These people really think this isn’t going to happen to them. And then they stop yelling at you when they get intubated. It’s like a ****ing horror movie that never ends. There’s no credits that roll. You just go back and do it all over again.

A lot of the blame rests with leaders in the US who said Covid is a hoax and everything will be fine and there is nothing to worry about.

Trump admitted early on to journalist Bob Woodward that covid was very serious and deadly but chose to downplay the risk because it was an election year and out of control covid and the economic issues associated with it would hurt his reelection chances. Well he played that wrong.

So as a consequence you get people sick from covid in the hospital who still don't believe its true or real!

Leaders are supposed to lead.
