I see nobody is too concerned about touching common things anymore. Menus, credit cards, cash, store items, receipts all passed back and forth now with no protection, no gloves nothing. Somewhere along the line the virus became airborne and forgot to pass itself along direct contact vectors.

    What a mess of misinformation.
YES, fogging breath shows all that masks do very little. The wetter they are the less they do...about 10 minutes exhaling. If they BLOCKED most aerosols your chins would be dripping.

      Gawd, this is getting silly.
      CWB, Trump, Covid.
I mean everyone just shut up for a while LoL.
Last week went to a small farm show in Red Deer. Wore a supplied face shield attached to hat brim. Cleaning out office and found it in a bag of flyers.
Held it up to the light. Spattered with dried up spit drops. From me talking.

Support your nurses and doctors all the time personally. Not their unions.
Wear a mask in public. Don't fall for the fear, hype in either direction. Don't make it worse by saying stupid stuff.
Heck, wearing a condom now a conspiracy?? Do you have to stick your tongue on the flagpole at 25 below to prove it to yourself??
I've heard more dumb crap on here in last few weeks. Its really amazing what some people say.
From rail freight to Crow rate, to Trump won, to CWB good, to masks bad, to Covid a hoax.
What the hell is going on? The stupider the subject the meaner we get.

i dont know whether masks help or not , not a big deal to throw one on
but now all these idiots think theyre bulletproof cause they have a mask on
that is a serious cosequence of this mask drive
        i am laying low

And zero practical health advice. Nobody recommending upping vit C and D, addressing the underling conditions that could cause problems. Blood pressure medicine is cheap as soup, aspirin as blood thinner, and covid and pneumonia are intermixed as progressive complications, nobody recommending the pneumonia vaccine that we already have developed.

Exactly zero dollars going into beefing up the health system except for paper masks.

And Canadas socialized doctors afraid to speak up.

I never saw it but hear people talking about it.
            Might be an urban myth.
Post #10 I shared the video of the empty hospital, as far as I understand the people talking the video saw the news of the overwhelmed hospital and decided to check it out.

It is easy to ridicule the truth until it affects you personally or someone you care for. That is why have no tolerance for some of the garbage posted on this site.

Then lock yourself in your house, and don't you dare come out under any circumstances.
The majority of people have jobs to go to, familys to raise, and a life to live.

Everyone I know is doing these things under the current rules, but everyone also eventually has a breaking point.

I saw a mainstream media report that more or less said 85% mild to asymptomatic 10% more serious and 5% may require hospitalization.
If 5% of those who get covid require hospitalization, consider that in Canada there are only 2 hospital beds per 1000 people or 0.2% If everyone Canadian contracted Covid at the same time, we would have 25 times the number of people requiring hospitalization than there are hospital beds. And that is assuming that there is no one other than Covid patients requiring beds. No cancer, no accidents, no maternity cases etc. And even if we had the hospital beds, there is no way increase staff by 25 times in the short term. This is the entire reason why we are are trying to slow down transmission of the disease - so that there are hospital beds available for those who are in the 5% get sick. Unchecked transmission rises exponentially and hospitals will be overrun. If masks can slow transmission by even 50% that is a huge benefit!

[QUOTE=helmsdale;475216]I know that we are told over and over that the medical system is overwhelmed. Hell it's generally overwhelmed on a normal day to day operating basis. In a public system we ration. That's just the way it is.

                    Couple thoughts:
                    1) not every MD program is 8 years. UofC for example is 2 years of classtime, 1 additional year of basically in the field apprenticeship. One does not necessarily have to complete an undergrad degree, and it certainly doesn't have to be anything related to the medical field. So... If there was a concerted effort in this country, there could be a swell of doctors and RN's at least partially trained that could have been coming online here shortly had we planned for something

I think it is more like mandatory undergrad four year degree, then 4 year med degree, internship and 3 year residency for specialty. 4+4+1+3=12-13 depending on fellowship. Loooong hard haul.

Or you could wear a mask when indoors or near others and socially distance. Wash your hands or use hand sanitizer. Don't touch your face. Are these things too difficult? Following these steps have kept our infection rates below the U.S. Covid fatigue is starting to cause people to relax. That has caused more restrictions to be imposed. Stay safe.

You fear mongering is pretty pointless, Karen. You two should move to Taiwan together where they report zero cases for the last 200days.
The point of masks is so you don’t spit into open wounds/incisions. My wife is a doctor and she and her coworkers get a good laugh over the stupidity of all of this.

Oh common Sumdumguy. They don't need that much school. Hell, Jazz says they can be replaced by first responders being called in!

Is it only Christian faith thats the problem because last time I check there are a couple other religions around. Should I tell the folks at the local mosque about your observation.

Jazz, how many times have you driven from SK (Regina area) to Steinbach? I guess that's when you seen all the Mosques in Steinbach.

I farm in eastern Manitoba, I know what Steinbach looks like. Jazz, if you knew anything about Steinbach (which you clearly don't based on your post)you would know the Steinbach Mennonite Brethren Churches are huge and there are many of them. Combine a couple of these Church's parking lots and the size would similar to the store's parking lots you mentioned above.

Again Jazz there are no Bars, Dance Clubs, one liquor store, no banquet halls to hold socials or wedding receptions, or Casinos, in Steinbach, but what there is a lot of is, Mennonite Brethren Churches. There are many stores in other Cities and Towns within Manitoba, but these cities and towns positivity test levels are much lower compared to Steinbach's 40%. There are also Bars, Dance Clubs, lots of liquor stores, Casinos etc etc. throughout the other Manitoba cities and towns and yet the positivity test levels in these cities and towns are much lower compared to Steinbach's 40%. Winnipeg's positivity test level is 13%.

So with a Covid positivity test level of 40% in Steinbach, I personally have no idea of how the Covid level in Steinbach is the highest in Manitoba and Canada. No idea!

Bill Gates is on the board of Costco.
                                He has shares in Walmart.
Wonder why they will never close?
