I'll likely have to pick up either the childcare responsibility, or the shopping responsibility, as it seems unlikely stores will be eager to count 3 children into their 25% of fire code, and she surely wont be able to drop them with the grandparents, even though there is no real way of avoiding contact with them as dad and I are actively farming in the same yard in the same operation...
But businesses that are very much struggling can still stay open. I got tortured at the dentist today, with everyone wondering whether this afternoons edicts would effectively shut it down again. It seems that they can stay open...
The measures will likely make NO-ONE happy... but what does these days?
Will the restrictions help keep some business afoot? Probably some. Will they help curb the virus? I doubt it. They’re still relying on people to be smart and as a whole, people are selfishly dumb.
I’m thankful for my privileged life in the country with a pretty much guaranteed job. The worst I may have to deal with is wearing a mask at work. I also don’t have kids to make things more stressful.
Pretty much they could do anything and it won’t have a very large impact on me. I’m like Teflon.

You started out calling me a socialist, my point was your life was saved by the Canadian Universal care system which is consider to be socialist program by many. It saved your life which means our health system works, you deserved that, of coarse. We all pay a lot of taxes so it better work.
Yes, I realize you have every right to use it as all Canadians do. I just find it very odd that your calling others socialists, when in Canada we all have so many social programs which ALL of us Canadians use.
You want to yap B.S. be prepared to be challenged.

I don’t know that shopping is generally the stupid activity. It’s hanging out with friends, sports, supper, that sort of thing.
I said it before on here somewhere, but it feels like not hanging out with friends or family is like you don’t trust them. But it’s not really about trust, you just don’t know who’s exposed to what or when.
Coworkers go hang out with say 5 friends regularly. Those 5 friends have 5 friends, etc etc etc. Somebody plays hockey or gets hammered at the bar or goes out on a date and bam, all of a sudden it’s in my circle. I’m a hermit who sees practically nobody but my co workers. They trust their friends to not get them sick, but I have no idea who their friends are. Too me they’re people hanging out in groups that are likely to lead to me taking the virus home to my morose mom who’s convinced she’ll die if she gets it.
Yeah people need to socialize but considering how much time we spend on social media on our phones... stop doing it in person so much!
But again, I’m a hermit who sees nobody. It really wouldn’t bother me if I couldn’t see anyone for weeks. I take time off work for holidays and just never leave my yard.

Am I missing something here?

All sports are done unless the league applies for an exemption with a really good Covid protocol and get approval to go.
