I prefer risking a day and a half of discomfort over the risks from getting Covid so not worried about vaccine risks.

I'll start out by stating that I'll take the Covid vaccine when it becomes available. There appears to be little risk to one's health. But I would like to point out something I've noticed about the arguments surrounding this issue.

Whenever someone questions the health risk of getting a vaccine, they are usually told that the risks are quite acceptable and that there is no need to worry. After all, risk assessment is a part of living.

But if anyone questions the usefulness of regulations governing the spread of Covid, generally we are told that no one has any right to independently assess the risk of any activity prohibited by the authorities, and need to be censured for thinking that they have any right to exercise their own judgement in that regard. Hence, the ludicrous spectacle of kids being threatened with tasering and handcuffed for skating on an open air rink with "too many" people.

The lock down advocates can't have this both ways. You can't strive to work people up into a mental frenzy over whether or not their recent contact with another human being is going to literally kill them, and then tell them to "chill out" when they project that same state of worry onto the issue of a vaccine. You are creating a society in which worrying is now elevated into a 24/7 phenomenon about life or death choices with very little in between. You can't expect to turn that phenomenon on and off at will.

Spent month overhyping this disease that would have a 99.9% survival rate in his age group and now totally chill about a new vaccine and its side effects which are apparently as bad as actually having covid. And apparently you can still spread covid after you have been vaccinated. No questions. Its all good.

Difference between your 2 ideas is the vaccination risk is to the individual the following or not of the regulations is a risk to the population, not the same scenario. I can make a decision for myself right or wrong but is it right to make a poor decision that may affect you?

95% prevention means 20 fold decrease in mortality. So if it was 1%, risk becomes 0.05%. And since you're so bad at both science and math, 10% risk is decreased to 0.5%.

None of this matters however to a person like yourself, Burnt, and others who repeat over and over in absolute ignorance that you do not care how many people painfully and slowly drown to death from their own lungs, alone, while families, their spouse, their children, everywhere, mourn their loss in isolation. I truly hope karma allows you to experience that kind of pain and suffering in some way for posting what you do.
