    Scrap it is right
We’ve been clean of it for 7 or 8years
Looked at getting back in 3-4 years ago and saw it was way worse than when we got out
All those bad memories started resurfacing

Apè-@$$ and their sister groups are trying to make land owners aware that the RailroadCo's can offload the upkeep and maintenance costs of private crossings to the land owner who is served by those crossings.

I would classify private crossings as crossings that are not on municipal right of ways. And further into feild access and yard access crossings. My neighbor has a private crossing into their yard. We have a private crossing into one of our fields. Ours in such a state of disrepair that we almost can't or don't want to use it. The planks on the outside of the rails are basically gone, rotted away.

At the very least, I hope the yard access private crossings are exempt.

There is evidence that we do use ours sparingly(for the reason given) because there is a beaten trail across the crossing.
I have kindly and diplomatically asked them to repair it, starting three years ago, ....nothing.

They wouldn't even let the major pipeline company use it to construct the pipeline or perform maintenance on existing pipes.
This past summer there was a pipeline maintenance dig right beside the private crossing, the crews had to drive in and out a quarter mile to reach it instead of just using the crossing.

Check into it if you have private crossings...... page 5 of the last Western Producer, or maybe Ape-@sses website?

Edit in, Ya I know it's a bit off topic

Railway crossing repairs should qualify as infrastructure .....and should be in climate barbie's responsibility...

I am not saying that the railways should get away with not fixing them on their dime but between private and public crossings there is alot of work to do....

And there is no reason with millions unemployed in this country its not getting done...

What does it take ....20 - 10X10 and a bobcat with 10yards of gravel to make it passable for another 50 years????

With the thousands and thousands of miles of track they tore out they could have melted it down and make indestructible ones that would last for ever or even weld together and make something similar to cattle gates you would think.

Common sense isn't common around the decision making process sometimes, they would rather install cheap softwood planks prone to rot and wear than a rubber or plastic composite with a much longer life.

That too! Where is all these recycled tires going that we pay enviro fee on that is suppose to cover cost of. Maybe time to ask provincial gov'ts about that.

When your govt is full time social engineering the country, roads and rail are simply a nuisance to them.

Railways used some cheap laminate cover on chip board at the crossing around here. Starts lifting on the outside making for a real rough crossing. Was done 3 years ago. Total garbage.

Same dummies that sterilized the rail sidings a couple years ago, and now polluted with canada thistle. Seed fluff drifting to all neighboring farm fields. true morons
