One thing about the covid issue is that everyone has a opinion about covid. Here is mine. Am I fearful about getting sick and dying from Covid? No. As others said , might have had it already and never knew it. Will I take the vaccine when I can? For sure, Its a no brainer IMO. Since I had a run in with cancer years ago now, my doctor told me that I should have the annual flu shot. I do this and feel that it helps me from getting the flu. If my doctor tells me not to take a covid vaccine shot then I won't. I accept the fact that lots of people don't trust their health professionals and to not get the shot is their right. They have to understand that exercising that right will probably affect their ability to travel to other countries, get on a plane, etc. But again that is their right.
I know the statistics about the relatively low number of people who die from the virus that get it. It seems some people are seemingly more susceptible to covid than others. I do have family that are working in health care and one working on a covid ward in the city. The speed at which some people go from a healthy state then succumb to covid is frightening. I have both parents in a care home. We all know the reality that if covid spreads in a long term care home many will die before their time. Just because they are old and maybe have some other heath issue doesn't change the fact they died from covid. In watching how things have went in North Dakota tell me that here in Sask we have got off to date very lightly. I watched a news story from Minot about a man on his death bed from covid steadfastly refusing to believe he had covid and died shortly there after. To each his/her own but If I could get a covid vaccine and get on a plane with others that have had the shot as well that would allow me safely fly to the Cuba or the like it would be of extreme interest to me. Merry Christmas and happy new year everyone
