I wont do it either, also dont like e-transfers or direct deposit. Have had to pay a few bills recently where the receiver seemed quite put out that they had to take a cheque when it could have been electronic. For that matter I've had bank cards since the early 90s and could count on my hands how many times theyve been used. Cash, cheque or CC for me, you dont like it I go somewhere else.

Lots of people no longer have cheques. Kids activities often require a bond cheque for volunteering hours, the last couple years been a big stink from some because no cheques.

Similar situation to self checkouts and apps to order fast food. I prefer actually talking to someone and most of the time these things dont work as they should and takes longer anyhow. Dont these people that welcome these technologies understand that it's not about their convenience but rather about eliminating costly employees and bricks and mortar.

I’ve started using it since Covid, works well for the most part and don’t have to make a trip to town. The only thing that irks me is you can’t put a memo on your deposit and when you get your statement it shows a picture of all cheques you wrote but no picture of your deposits, I’d like to toss my deposit book. They already have the picture of the deposit, how hard would it be to show the deposit as well. My app is from a CU maybe banks do this.

About a year ago I applied for CPP and left direct deposit info blank, the gal insisted they had to direct deposit, I insisted that I wanted a check to fold up and put in my ass pocket after a bit of a go round I said I don’t have a bank account. A check is in my mail box each month!

I used to use it. It was handy. I’m 40 minutes from my closest bank, real pain to deposit cheques.

But the amount of cheques I get now a days is very, very rare. Everything is direct deposit or e transfer.

Mom recently lost a couple credit cards. I’m linking it to her online use. She doesn’t quite get the concept of click bait and must have some malware on her laptop that let them access what cards she used. It’s a risk of online and why the card I use has a lower limit.

My rule is if it saves time and is easy its used. However, a risk factor is applied to some of it.
I'm a half mile from a small town bank so I'm spoiled.

Just remember to contact your phone provider and port block your account.

The app is only good for depositing little checks. Just take another pic and add it to “deposited folder” in “notes “on your phone.

Another thing that peaves me is doing bills on a computer.

Go through process account name number etc and if new payee you type in transaction amount and says code will be sent to your phone to proceed all good until you ain’t got phone service.

                    Not a big issue.

How about them grain markets overnight not for feint hearted at moment.

All good Saturday here going to see sister a hour away for lunch.

Around here, the cheque photograph is only good for smaller amounts of money. Big accounts cannot be settled that way.

                      Not sure on the limit.
