i am looking at these travel rules. First 3 days must be in a hotel. Remainder can be in your home but what if you are connecting in Toronto Vancouver or Calgary? That means hotel for 2 weeks before you take a connecting flight home?

This is going to make air travel impossible for most people. Looks like air travel will only be for the leisure class and not the plebs.

When the work from home orders started there were some people who asked to work remotely out of country and some did that for a while. Now I am hearing these companies want people at least in their home base if they are doing that and some asking for them to start coming back in at least part time. The whole WFH will be scaled back significantly IMHO. I have worked for these companies and they wont tolerate not being able to monitor you.

So the average family looks to get a sunny vacay for 2 weeks most yrs. 14 day quarantine in host country in hotel would easily be $2000, 14 day vacay and then another $2000 in hotels upon return and 14 days at home. This increases the cost of the trip by 50% I bet and you now need 6 weeks to get a 2 week vacation. I think the standard vacation leave is 4 weeks.

I have never been so glad to be a farmer than this year. Hope that holds true for the future.

Air Canada a month back hit a low and then a slight gain. But now who knows. its low was 19.42 today its down from past month high at 20.

I was picking Air Canada thinking they would get help before WestJet as an eastern Company.

So some clarification on the fees. The test is whats costing $2000, not the hotel rooms.

So your family pays $2000 each to test upon arrival, 3 days to hotel room, then to your home if you are in same city, 11 more in hotel if you are connecting elsewhere. Maybe you can drive out and cut that short, dont know.

This basically shuts down our travel industry.

Had the house power washed yesterday and Gardner did my plants and the neighbor washed my golf cart so I guess we're not going south till maybe the end of July now.

This is a total shit show. You can stay at a hotel in TO for less than 200 a night at the airport. With points even less. That's $2800.00 for a couple plus food. less than Trudeau's 2000 each for three days.
