Feeding & nutrition is a big one, sheep can live on a mediocre diet but to thrive need better feed and better nutrition management than cows. Second is being tied down, cows can look after themselves for most of the summer with the odd check here and there. Sheep need babysat, not everyone is prepared to do that. Sheep are also much more determined and stubborn than cows and it's pretty easy to get frustrated with them. Just hard to change the way you've always done something.

My first ewes were year letter "y", this year is "J" on my second trip around the alphabet, guess I'm just a slow learner.

First ewe lambed 3AM this am, and I was there. nuff said!

My daughters name every ewe lamb that makes the replacement cut. Starting with the year letter. They are happy they skip the letter “I”.

Regarding the other post, I hear you. I was raised with cattle, but all I know is sheep, which is maybe a distinct advantage then.

Any Y ewes still alive and producing? Our first year was Z. I used to tell ppl I have a Z-28.

The original Ys would be like 32 yrs old so no, but there are likely some of the Ys still there from the more recent ones, but that's getting pretty old too.

had to edit my math on that one by 10 yrs, I'm old, but not that old

Lol. I missed the part on the second time through the alphabet. A 42 year old ewe would be a scary looking beast.
