    America first

Have been reading history of America First movement in 1930s.
Never heard much about it until Trump policy sort of resurrected it.
It was a nationalist and isolationist policy that hoped to keep USA out of another world war.
It had a national organization with state chapters.
Critics say it was friendly to Nazi Germany and racial discrimination.
Famous flyer Charles Lindbergh was a supporter and national leader.
The organization was disbanded three days after Japanese Pearl Harbour attack.

After the war, United States took a leadership role in support of international cooperation including United Nations, WTO and more. The Biden administration has reversed course on some things but not so much on protectionism, especially with Buy American. With this exception, Canada can support US leadership in most other trade, human rights and peacekeeping efforts.

If you follow Peter Zeihan and he is not always right, but he claims globalization is DOA, some just dont know it yet. Trump put a fork in a dying concept and there really is no way to ressurect it now.

I think Zeihan alludes to anyone investing in globalization is akin to investing in whips and buggies in 1910.

China will never let western companies operate there with out heavy handed oversight and manufacturing and AI and robotics will render chinas slave workforce obsolete so supply chains will repatriate, there is no stopping that now. Its not likely to create a job boom but at least having the capital base at home opens it up for taxation.

Our Prime Moron is betting on globalization everyday and we see how that goes. Zeihan says Canada is too weak to play in the global sand box and our economy to intertwined with the US to ever pivot dramatically away from them.

Your not trying to suggest that if Bill gets in a pissing match with China over software he might stop the canola trains from rolling ?
