    Are they ever !!!!
    Was -38 with a 25-30 mph wind
Can you imagine hanging off a pole 25’ in the air in this shit ?
Kinda like a Derrick hand standing in a monkey board in this shit while some unappreciative prick tells them they don’t need fossil fuels

My mistake, I misinterpreted who case was referring to. Glad you straightened out what he meant.
Umm, you’re losing ground my good man , not helping your case at all

I would sure see Saskatchewan power buy from Mb than ND

Will it start at -40 ?
Will it run on gasoline or diesel as well ?
Natural gas will run without power ,but a few years ago an area between Melfort and kinistino had no NG for a week .I wonder what would happen if an ice storm took out a bunch of power and all of a sudden NG is powering half the homes as well as heating them ?
Costco has sold a lot of NG generators
A line had burst under a muskeg slough at that time and it took nearly a week to repair
Really interested in one if you don’t mind answering some questions
yep is sits 18'' away from our house, ours is about 5' from the gas meter..
it is suppose to start uses a car battery that has a battery warmer, option to get an engine heater and air intake heater..
dual fuel. either NG or propane

there are ones that will run on diesel, but then I would think jelling maybe an issue.

I'd recommend a larger generator then needed, it is more efficient to have it running 1/2 speed then full out all the time.

we needed 13-16000 to run everything in our house.. AC and oven included.. we got a 20,000

Remember it's not just additive for all the appliances that you want to use. Anything with an electric motor requires a buffer to cover the inrush at startup. Larger the motor, the larger the buffer needed. That's fridges, air conditioners, forced air furnaces, air compressors, etc...
I think 7500 would be the minimum and I sure wouldn't use a generator... I'd only use an Inverter generator so the delicate electronics in your furnace, fridge, tvs and computers don't get fried...

There was a proposal for a dam just west of the Battlefords. Would have been a very big project but it got scuttled due to environmental concerns and cultural heritage sites further west up river.
That was 15-20 years ago , the “obstacles” at that time made it not feasible.
The newer natural gas power plant was built by Bruce Power I believe and is now called the North Battleford Energy Center.
Not sure why more of these can’t be built.
Maybe too sensible in today’s cancel carbon culture ?
It produces a lot of power with a very small environmental footprint.

Sold by the home depot in Winterhaven.

This is what I will be putting in down south for hurricanes.

Agree, electronics need a battery backup to prevent spikes and low voltages. We can only run the furnace and a few lights on 7500 watts. Thankful for LED! Pressure pump, sewer pump and microwave only when furnace is off. Refrigerator and DF maybe with furnace. Doable but tricky. Shite, but N gas better not stop. Only a few 1500 watt heaters would work.

Im leaning towards a generac as well, i like the looks of the 50 kw diesel, but $24K might be too much for one or two days use per year. I may still go the route of a pto generator and have the backup breaker box, lock out switch and plug all wired in the house so all you need to do is pull out the tractor and generator and plug it in. keep it parked in the heated shop in the winter

Ours cost $2000, insurance but a bare minimum...just need N gas and gasoline. Could have used about 3 times so far in 10 years, non was deadly long.
