I just put up the shades emoji to show that....
Nobody is doing new business off the March
When holding a basis contract, what date would it have to be priced out/sold? Would you have till the end of the month, or do the graincos require you to take a price before the 15th of the month you're holding the basis contract? or does it depend on the company?

It would depend on what the basis contract specifies. Cargill is often the third last trading day of the month preceding the futures month.

Watching the excitement in March, and asking, how or why does this seem to spill over into the next contracts as well?

S.A. Is in a bit of trouble so new beans from there are not as promising as they hoped. Be interesting to see the production reports from there. These guys seem to be a few steps ahead of the farmer all the time.

Had a $17.30 target trigger today for mid march delivery.
Next one is $17.75 for march as well.

Wheat getting very close to a couple targets.
A few guys had $8.25 wheat trigger today but not sure what grade, protein level or delivery time the target was for??

                    Very interesting - telling?

So the buyers were suggesting that Feb and March were full, and they were only contracting for May, June, July,

                    Now March delivery,
                    hum ......

Seems to be ahead of things where you are at sodbuster. Only just cracked $17 here today in Regina at RP.

Booked some for $16.62 last week, already 50c higher today.
