It appears the March contract is done now after going limit up today and ended 830.70.
Most options compensate for what the hedger is giving up if he were marketing the actual commodity. So there is some that will have been partially compensated and others that may have loaded up and been well paid for the cost of their premium.
There was 4113 contracts active at the end of Feb 22. Today there was 1871 volume. Should be room for some more fun tomorrow. There may be a few poorer option writers but they are usually hedged somehow

There is something wrong in the trade here boys and girls. I phoned 6 outlets today within an hour of my place. $17 canola and none able to take a spot delivery. Durum too. Plugged full. April next movement. Says they are still trying to rail out the january contracts yet.

Somethings off here and it sounds like our system is part of it.

Earlier Bucket was saying it was slow going in his area.
Between Feb 7 and 14 primary elevator stocks went down 350,000 tonnes. 80% of what they call working capacity.

Maybe I can convince the wife yet, that dropping 40K into repairs for the combine last fall was a good idea?

Or rebuilding the C15 in my Pete last January was a good idea?

How is parts availability/pricing these days?
