I agree we have tractors now that can easily make 5000 hrs with min problems whereas years ago we put that on in a few years. Remember it was working the ground to warm up. Some banded, then work to smoothen out then seed with air seeder or discer or DD drill. Then harrow pack or harrow. Start on SMF after seeding was done work. Soon as it's done maybe a week and start again. Then again then again. Finally, work stubble in fall or band. Ah, Trade the bitch off it's worn out.

I have a 1976 4230 as my feed the sheep tractor. Good enough for me. Could have 15, or go buy a new beast. Lol

Ppl wonder why there’s no money in ag. I will point at the 300 000 dollar, gotta have it cuz Joe down the road has one, 300 hp, mfwd loader tractor. Totally unnecessary.

The payments are 5433.00 a month, Or $32598. SA or $65196 a year similar to payment on a deere tractor or sprayer or what ever a farmer is purchasing today.

Even have a Partner in the USA who will pay for half of it.

Just thinking outside of the box as some feel farming is so much fun. Yea it is but it takes years of hard work to enjoy the end game and not everyone slides into home base and makes it safe. One ****ing tough business to win at.

I might have told this before cause I'm old but one fall after a windfall crop a freind of mine bought a brand new Cessna twin that he could write off due to one part of his farm that required a lot of travel at the time.
The appeal at the time was it was a 2 year depreciate term.
You will want to have a clear understanding of your maintenance and operating costs.
Some of the guys that work for successful small oilfield companies have probably seen them come and go.
