    Commissions marching orders.

Across the prairies most of the AGMs adopted resolutions for an export sales reporting program be implemented along with a carbon program.

These are resolutions that came from farmers , the directors have been told what is foremost on farmers minds...

Will they get it done or will the roadblocks be the excuse...

As a farmer when I see the provincial ag minister stand at the back of the room in january 2020 when a carbon program resolution is passed unanimously ...its pretty disappointing that it isn't getting done...

Its now the commissions job to be knocking on the minister's door every single day to get these resolutions completed..

How does the R&D money flow so freely and yet sales reporting and carbon credits get roadblocked every single step of the way????

Been told by commission directors that if farmers want change they should let their names stand and get on the boards. I thought that is why Farmers elected or appointed members so they would work on behalf of what Farmers wanted. Are you saying that is not the case?

Also got in a discussion with a director about Farmers grade and dockage misgivings his come back was if farmers can't afford to take a little loss they shouldn't be farming. So don't expect backing on that front either when they put recommendations forward for Grain Act review either.

That director should have been asked for his resignation on the spot....or at the next board meeting...they are to represent farmers not grainco or industry....phucking bullshit

I can imagine these directors put up with enough peoples shite from producers and industry, but at the end of the day they are there to represent us producers. When they lose sight of that goal or are fatigued into complying with industry they are about done. It’s the Ottawa syndrome our politicians are infected with after being there for too long. Takes a special person to keep their eye on the prize for a long time. Then there is the problem of finding replacements for positions. It turns into an old boys club, and new entrants have a heck of a time to break in and make a difference or even get an idea of what’s going on. People get sick of it and quit. I’ve seen it so many times and it really ticks me off. These groups could do more for producers holding bad actors accountable while still having productive working relationships with industry. Instead they truck off the Banff for a “meeting” and stuff all is said or done on our behalf. I don’t disparage guys and gals for stepping up and taking on the responsibility cause it’s a thankless job at times but if you lose sight ****ing quit!!
