So far trust. But have considered punch clock or white board.

If you can't trust them with their timesheet how do you turn them loose to run an expensive piece of equipment?

I think it is good for both parties. You may trust your employees but when you get a bill bigger than you expected the time card removes doubt

Our guys are pretty decent and trustworthy. Sometimes they don’t come to the shop for multiple days if it’s field time. If you’re worried about them scamming a little time...... what about fuel, tools, anything else when you’re not around?

I wasn’t asking for suggestions from those not using anything. We have allot of trust with our employees, they come go and they are the ones that want something. It would make it easier at payroll.

Neighbors use tsheets ... I think. Employees clock in and out on their phone. It also shows on gps where they are when they clock out. Ie. It shows if they are at home when they punchout so you can review that day to see what hours were worked that day.

There is a free and paid app. I don't think it is too costly of an app.

I think if you use a payroll service they have their own app available. I have also seen setups if everyone works on the same location where you clock in and out by thumb print.

Sorry for getting the thread off track.

Having spent enough time on both sides of the equation, I know that many ( not all) employees when something such as a timeclock is introduced, will take the attitiude that you don't trust them, otherwise why would you need the timeclock, and since you don't trust them, why should they be loyal, and honest when it isn't rewarded or appreciated, and will find other ways around it, and the attitude is infectious. This sentiment will be echoed in any coffee room of any group of employees anywhere.

Personally, whenever I worked on the honour system, I erred on the side of caution, just because you never know when the powers that be might be verifying. I always got more hours if someone else was keeping track of my time.

Old fashion punch clock worked for us at a seed cleaning plant for years - until the night guy was close enough that he could leave the mills running and go home to bed. Well, you guessed it, the leg plugged and a pile of grain was dumped on top of the scale. This same guy must have forgot to punch in once and decided he would just take the clock apart and jimmy the time - except he couldn’t get it back together. But if you can find an old one from some auction or if they still make old-fashion punch clock, they work really well.

I bought a $250 time clock at Staples. Works when we need it. Employee filled time sheet is easy but the time clock works best in some circumstances.

Really meant for restaurant but we use it during seeding and Harvest for our extra guys working hourly. Free for upto 10 employees

                              Thanks For the great suggestions!!!
Someone on Ag facebook said they use the Timestation app and they like it as well. Im torn between a old fashioned punch clock and new cloud system.
