"In an effort to quell false online rumours, the Canadian Life and Health Insurance Association (CLHIA) is telling Canadians that getting a Covid-19 vaccine will not impact their insurance coverage."

From the Manulife Canada website:
"The COVID-19 vaccination in no way negatively impacts your current insurance policies or valid Group Benefits coverage, nor does it factor into new insurance applications you may apply for with us."
"We continue to follow guidance and recommendations from the WHO and the Canadian government, including supporting government-approved vaccines to combat the COVID-19 pandemic."

Id be more worried about insurance companies being wiped out by govt defaulting on debt. And Alberta did it in the 30s so don't say it'll never happen. Every dollar of premium insurance companies hold is held in govt bonds, and rates are rising regardless what central banks say. Inflation is toxic to bonds.Last edited by macdon02; Mar 11, 2021, 12:58.

There is more to life insurance than just a windfall for a survivor. For those not over the hill, carrying debt it is a way to cover debt and liabilities that would fall to spouse and children. For those of you who want to pass an operating farm to a child it is a way to leave non farming children with an asset other than an interest in the farm. Or for those of you who simply want to pass on land ownership to children it is a way to cover capital gains tax on the increased value of the farm land so part of the farm does not need to be sold to cover taxes should neither yourself or children be farming at the time of a death.

A relative of mine died young and left a wife a four young children. He left a nice policy. That cleaned up his debts and his wife never worried about money. Problem is his early death left a big hole in his kids’ lives but life insurance helped some. Never can replace a great dad.

Yet out of the 5 million people vaccinated in Europe with the Astrazeneca vaccine there has been just 1 death (0.00002% death rate) and only 30 cases of blood clots (0.0006%) and somehow this is a crisis? No questioning the age of the dead person or if there were comorbidities in those who developed the blood clots. No comparisons of the occurrance of bloodclots in the general population like you compare covid to the flu.
It is a shame that you use a different criteria to criticize vaccines than you do the disease
Oh, and by the way, the Astrazeneca vaccine uses the conventional viral vector system to develop immunity and not the "unproven" mRNA system.
More political grandstanding. Months ago posters were complaining of not enough vaccines and Canada taking to long to approve. Now that we have vaccines available posters questioning the safety even though the risk, if the vaccine in fact caused the clots) is still thousands times lower than the risk from Covid itself.
